Just my take but Jay was more gracious than he had to be.
Matt talked all over him and interrupted several times.
Matt's too busy talking to listen.
Jay actually defended MB' s decision to call Cals bluff and Matt somehow turns it into Jay saying that UK's /Cal problem was the AD's fault.
Sometimes Matt needs to STFU.

Jay had a hard time getting a word in.
Spot on.
That's a trait all arrogant people have. They feel what they have to say is more important.
Spot on. He refuses to let an interview breathe because he can’t wait to make his next point which he’s so sure is brilliant that the listener must hear it.

I felt the same way. I was prepared to dislike JW more than I already did, but Matt tried to run with some things that were never said.

I have to honestly say the way Matt treats Kentucky Joe is borderline disgusting. Should be respectful to your elders.
He treats Bob from Jamestown even worse.

Matt struggles with people with strong personalities because he has to be the smartest guy in the room. He is constantly talking about HIS life on the show like all of the listeners are just on the edge of their seats wanting to know about it. Everything is geared toward him and his viewpoint or preferences, so anyone that opposes that is subject to his arrogance.

But, that being said, he does some great things for BBN and his show is the best for UK info. And it is entertaining for the most part.

Neither Greenberg nor Williams matter. Neither are changing the outcome of any UK games. And no high-level recruits are studying Greenberg or Williams takes to make their decisions. Rent free…
They certainly do spend an inordinate amount of time to what BBN says and does. Do they do this with any other fan base or are we just that much different? Nevermind I know the answer to that!!

I came away more a Jay Williams fan than Matt after that. Matt came off as a huge douche who took what might be an otherwise legitimate talking point and oversold it and completely ruined his entire argument by being a blowhard and not engaging with his guest.
After finally listening to it myself I did come way with a differnt take on Jays comments. He was just trying to explain why its tougher on Cal right now to try and right the ship I think. A lot of added pressure on him. Dont think he was trying to blame us as much but certainly wanted to make sure folks new we were a factor.

He mentioned on his show yesterday that Pope said they discovered something watching film that would help about the foul issue. He said he knew it would be to fall more when they receive contact and then went on to say that Almonor should have fallen on the last 3 pointer he made when they called Amari for the foul on the shot. Funny thing is he said the same thing on his post game show and later said fans had messaged him and told him that Almonor did indeed fall in an attempt to get the foul called. So I guess he either forgot from Saturday to yesterday that he had already been corrected over that or just figured that nobody would notice he was wrong again. 🤣

It really does distract from the show. I listen because living out of state, there is not many options for me to her talk about UK. That being said his talking over guests and callers is beyond irritating and his mocking of callers using a stereotypical hillbilly voice is pathetic.

Unfortunately he has a monopoly on talking UK so I have to listen if I want to hear UK related content. But whenever you get irritated with his “I’m smarter than everyone else” you can always remember how his dumbass mocked COVID at the outset with his hillbilly “I ain’t skeeerred” routine as he took his show to some Walmart that reported a case only to become a full blown supporter of draconian restrictions.

I wish he didn’t have in essence a monopoly on UK sports because I would enjoy having an alternative.

Not as tech savy as probably most of you. Is there a link or page where you can listen to the conversation?
Not sure what you’re asking, but one can listen to the KSR radio show weekdays on WLAP 630 AM which is available over the internet on IHeart Radio App.

It's time for UK to move on from Matt Jones. He is a black cloud that hangs over the program. He promotes too much negativity which brings unwanted attention to the program.
He’s not that important.

Now he thinks he is, but in reality he’s only relevant because of the listeners he garners because the BBN is such a loyal rabid bunch. Matt Jones has benefitted more from us than anyone in the local media since Oscar Combs.

Not an MJ apologist but the Ryan thing is shtick. Ryan is in on it.

I dunno if I’d call it shtick. It’s more just the reality of who Ryan is. Nicest guy in the world, would do anything for anyone… including being walked all over by Matt. It doesn’t help that Ryan is somewhat of an irresponsible buffoon, so he has surrendered all his credibility and has no real way to rebut Matt.

Then again, Matt is a grown man (from Eastern Kentucky, no less) who doesn’t know how to change a tire. So he doesn’t really have room to make fun of anybody.

Matt is so incredibly talented. Not everyone could host a radio show the way he does and keep things fresh. I’m definitely not anti-Matt. I just wish he’d dial it a back on being overtly disrespectful of people. He’s quick to point out how Calipari did that but he does the same thing at least once in every single episode

I agree. He has a knack for keeping it moving etc. I listen every day and really enjoy the show. Even the non sports stuff. But the mocking hillbilly voices and mocking of some callers does go too far. Yes Ryan is part of the "act". They've acknowledged it a few times that he plays his part.

For us out of towners, when are these various shows on the radio? Might have to finally tune in over on iHeart.

I'm in the same boat as you. And whether you like him or not, he does have the best access to UK coaches, and even Mitch makes occasional appearances.

At least 2 of those shows are KSR shows, although without Matt. Also, Matt's KSR radio show will have Stoops/Pope (and other coaches) on as guests, but not the other ones.

Locked on Kentucky has no insider information at all, and no access to UK coaches/players. In fact, I'm pretty sure Locked on Kentucky makes frequent trips to Rupps Rafters for content.

I'm not familiar with Loyal BBN Fan show, maybe something I'll check out
