Three toughest ESCC games are the final 3 of the year, and not all at home!!!Arguably their 3 toughest ESCC games at home though which should help them.
If they don't make the playoffs, which is looking to be likely, and as they have just not been able to get over the hump since 2007, (having had incredible talent), I wonder what happens then,,,Talents way down for the Hill this year. Seems to me 3-6 would be a reasonable prediction for the season. This is not sand bagging.
6 awa y games this fall, including the first three. Opening out of state in Franklin, WI.
Gonna be a tough year. I have heard they will start as many as 12 sophs next year. They should be decent in 2017 and very good in 2018.If they don't make the playoffs, which is looking to be likely, and as they have just not been able to get over the hump since 2007, (having had incredible talent), I wonder what happens then,,,
You are correct, but that is about all they bring back.I keep hearing this "no talent".
I thought they had a sophomore rb playing some due to injury and a 300 lb soph starting on the o line last season.
Am I mistaken?
My guess is things won't change significantly (they might tweak a few things) until there is a change in the head coaching position. Many Hilltopper fans make good points about the need for some offensive changes. However, Sharp has won six titles at the school. No one is going to force him to change his approach. If he is not motivated to change, based on recent results (no state titles since 2007), it's not going to happen in his tenure at the school, IMO.So will they decide to change up the offensive schematics and isolate their talent or continue to try and ground and pound their schedule with no secrets.
No doubt. I'm not denying the need for change. I'm saying if someone refuses to change and has not experienced the same level of success he had previously, there is no point in fans expecting or hoping for change.True but wouldn't you say offenses in general have drastically changed since 2007.
where are you seeing schedule?6 away games this fall, including the first three. Opening out of state in Franklin, WI.

Joliet Catholic does not have to completely abandon the running game to change offensively. They need to show teams different formations and run out of those formations. They need to develop a passing game that uses all of the route tree and moves the chains consistently. They need to work on the screen game. They need to get creative with what they have coming back this year. Hopefully they make it into the playoffs at 5-4 or 6-3.
Joliet Catholic will be at least 5-4.At least they didn't paper their schedule vs CPS schools
They've been locked in with WN for a few years. I don't think they had an opening in Week 2. Week 1 was the opening, which was filled with a WI team.No but word is they did refuse a proposed week two game against Da Brook.

Ehh, from what I understand there is again a major issue on offense that plagued us last year, plus minimal returning D. That along with the schedule makes me say 6-3 at best.PJJP,
I know the JCA/Brook match up was floated for this upcoming season. If it was week 1 or week2 I can't decidedly say, but the proposal was not something JCA wanted to do, at least this season. With what has transferred into Da'Brook and what is coming, my agreement with Bones about the upcoming season being blah no longer holds water. Good luck to everyone this season I will be watching from afar.
If JCA turned down a chance to play the Brook in Week 1 this year, I applaud them. They don't have the horses to compete with the Brook in 2016.PJJP,

That being said, I know they were close to playing both MC and OPRF week 1If JCA turned down a chance to play the Brook in Week 1 this year, I applaud them. They don't have the horses to compete with the Brook in 2016.

I would agree on the playoffs.Bones,
There are always concerns to start the HS season, but there are many additions to your beloved in the past 18 months that will make a major difference. If you recall in December we both agreed(yikes imagine that) that a 3-6 season wasn't out of the question. I'm confident that Da'Brook will be an IHSA playoff team now and could make some serious noise. You can't sandbag this year anymore! Still waiting on payment for that wager.
What "additions" are you referring to? We know about the new OC. Did they get some transfers as well?Bones,
