I congratulate you three for GW's victory this afternoon over the Caravan.
Early this morning I struggled with the decision on whether to drive to Glen Ellyn or stay in Wilmette and watch LA play Stevenson. Persuaded by a neighbor who has a son on the team, I went to LA and was treated to a running clock, 49-0 game where LA dismissed the very foe which vanquished both LA and GW last year.
Perhaps LA beating the Patriots today will enhance the Hilltopper's win over the Caravan.
As a long-time LA fan, I broaden my horizons in the playoffs and typically go "all in" for the Blue Division and would have preferred a Caravan win, but judging from the account I got from a LA spectator who was getting texts from someone in Glen Ellyn today, Sam Brodner is quite an impressive player and difficult to take down.
Similarly, shutting out a MC team, any MC team, is an grand accomplishment. While GW's football program did not need this win to acquit itself, it is a game which signals a first-rate football program.
Regardless of the fact Libertyville is a short drive from my home up here, I plan on being a champion of GW for the remainder of the playoffs and my genuine ambition is for GW to win the 7A title.
Last: I started a thread last week and regret several posts I made. I did not direct any passage to any of you three, the GW football staff or players.
GW has a fan within the Blue Division. I hope to catch a re-play on Comcast this week.
