Kids in Jefferson County Public Schools still being forced to weak masks..ridiculous!
As if it wasn’t already known, yesterday’s JCPS Board meeting proves once again why change is needed.

Here’s how yesterday’s board meeting went down… 👇🏼👇🏼

A few minutes in James Craig made a motion to amend the agenda to talk “mask.”

Duncan seconds it.

Vote fails… 👇🏼👇🏼

McIntosh - Yes
Shull - No
Duncan - Yes
Marshall - No
Craig - Yes
Kolb - No
Porter - No

In November, vote the “No’s” above out and vote for:

**Misty Glin will be running for Shull seat in District 6

**Charlie Bell will be running for Porter seat in District 1

While this is certainly an option, (although iirc the poster lives in lex) it shouldn't come to that. There are zero studies anywhere showing masks do anything for transmission in schools.

What really needs to happen is people should sue. Of course that won't work because the judges are of the same pool as these lunatics. So the only answer is to vote out the entire lot.

There aren’t really any words for this. They represent probably the most disadvantaged concentration of kids in the state. They know there’s no statistical danger to kids from this virus (practically none for adults). And they do this anyway, knowing that these kids will fall farther behind than ever before.

And call it progressive.

This whole thing with schools is ruining a generation. My niece and nephew live right outside Atlanta. And their mom (my sister in law) is a teacher down there. My niece is 13 and HATED school at home. She flat out said she didn't feel like she was learning anything. My nephew loved it but it was terrible for him. He is 10. Hes a good kid but hes also 10 year old boy. He needs a teacher to sorta smack his hand to get him to pay attention. So at home he was off the wall and my brother and his wife were also working so they couldn't watch him 24/7. And my sister in law the teacher hated it because her school passed students who never even turned in an assignment (or in some cases never even logged in). So students that literally did no work just got shoved on to the next grade.

Anecdotal I know.

Not necessarily. Wlky iirc had a story with several interviews from seniors that all agreed they learned nothing the last two years.

It's sad

It really sucks because my niece is someone that loves school and loves learning. She pretty much went out of her way to study the stuff she was supposed to be learning in school so she could keep up. Again she is in Georgia so she has been back in school for a long time now, but still.

School and learning isnt synonymous with each other anymore. This honestly sounds like teachers pushing for another stay at home order so they can work in pajamas over Zoom

This conversation with my family was over a year ago. They've been back in school since I believe 1/2021. May have been earlier I don't remember

I’m sure there was pushback from the teachers in Georgia when they went back. Laziest occupation in the country imo.

They’d love another stay at home order, won’t let this Covid crap end until they get it.

btw to give you an idea of how wonderful my niece is. When she was younger and not into sports and stuff my brother and his wife made her and my nephew volunteer at a homeless shelter. The idea was for them to understand "you two have an incredible life, you need to understand that not everyone is as lucky as you are". So on Saturdays they would help serve food and what not. I mean they were small children so we aren't talking heavy work or anything. Just helping out like kids can.

for my nieces 8th birthday. Yes I said EIGHT YEARS OLD. She had a birthday party. She, with no prompting from her parents, put on the invitations and told everyone to please donate money to the homeless shelter because the people there needed things more than she did.

Louisville is just people from California, Oregon, Columbus Ohio, and the liberal Kentuckians who think they’re better than the rest of the state. Awful city.
There are a ton of good people on the outskirts of Louisville that live here for work. We’re just outnumbered by those you listed unfortunately.

Simply can’t imagine outsourcing the raising of my children to the government. It’s insanity.

the worst thing? Many private schools are getting bad. Within 10 years, they’ll be as bad as public. I’m already seeing it

While I agree continuing to mask is silly, I wish I saw this much passion when a school gets shot up. The dramatic hand-wringing we've seen over a mask turns into a calm shrug and a "hey, evil exists and that's the way it is." when the bodies of students are destroyed.

I’m born and raised in louisville. It’s a fine city, but yes we do look down on the rest of the state not named Lexington.

And what do you think the continual ignoring of science and messing with the development of children will probably lead to?

I know exactly how 90% of teachers are.
Claiming 90% of teachers are lazy and don't care is just dumb. Most teachers, at least in my 38 years of life, care and are good people.

Except Vern, he's a bum.

There are a lot of lazy, terrible teachers just like there are a lot of lazy, terrible everything in every profession.

Focusing on the teacher for these things is silly. It's the teacher's union and the school boards. Aware that teacher's unions are made up of teachers but it's not Mrs. Sally teaching 2nd grade that is calling the shots.

The idiots in charge of these dumb decisions are just a bunch of mindless drones that take Herr Fauchi as the gospel.

They just re-opened cruises for the unvaccinated at Carnival and some of these snob types are worried about "all the sickness and the cruise industry getting shut down and being stuck on a ship for 2 weeks" and so forth. We are living in the movie Idiocracy with these people. I told them to STFU and go back to their basements and closets as we need to stop comparing unvaccinated people to lepers or something similar. I got the shot last September (purely to cruise, not worried about Covid otherwise as I made it my biatch in December 2020 when I got it unvaccinated as most people have the past 2.5 years), but respect those that can't or think it was not worth the risk to their own health.
