The teachers actually prefer the masking to be optional by a pretty healthy margin according to the most recent polling. JCTA and the board are the ones failing the students. When you constantly elect loons like Kolb this is what happens.

You are correct. My wife said the vast majority don’t (and if you want to wear a muzzle, feel free to).

I don’t know the deal with those Marxist JCPS board members. I’d love for someone to note their daily activities to see how much they wear a muzzle (a bet the percentage is very low.). It hate commie Marxists

Kids in Jefferson County Public Schools still being forced to weak masks..ridiculous!
As if it wasn’t already known, yesterday’s JCPS Board meeting proves once again why change is needed.

Here’s how yesterday’s board meeting went down… 👇🏼👇🏼

A few minutes in James Craig made a motion to amend the agenda to talk “mask.”

Duncan seconds it.

Vote fails… 👇🏼👇🏼

McIntosh - Yes
Shull - No
Duncan - Yes
Marshall - No
Craig - Yes
Kolb - No
Porter - No

In November, vote the “No’s” above out and vote for:

**Misty Glin will be running for Shull seat in District 6

**Charlie Bell will be running for Porter seat in District 1
Maybe we can get some parents to run and contest these seats. You know . . . the same parents who didn’t come to back to school night . . . the same parents who have never attended a PTO Meeting . . . and the same parents who won’t attend parent teacher conferences. If we can get them elected to some school board seats, I’d expect stellar results.

Worked at a school for 3 years. I know exactly how 90% of teachers are.
And I’ve spent 32 years working in the private sector in a role where I spend 3-5 days per week working directly in schools with teachers and principals. You couldn’t be further from being correct. Try 50-55 hour work weeks with stagnant pay and eroding benefits for a majority of educators. As a group, they are some of the most dedicated individuals I’ve encountered. There are no more bad teachers as a percentage in their group than there are bad doctors, lawyers, and engineers in their fields.

Couldn't get any worse. We aren't talking about splitting hairs here. Just normal every day expectations like your kids being able to go to school, without a mask (that doesn't work), and without being bussed across the county for the appearance of educational equality. Hard working parents should expect those things at a bare minimum, yet get only one in Louisville.

It will take every single non insane person to vote these people out. Problem is - I think we're outnumbered. There are probably less than 10 jurisdictions in America where someone like kolb could win an election. Louisville is just that bad.

Yep, it's the parents fault school boards and teacher's unions don't follow science nor seem to care about the negative, unintended consequences of using children as lab rats to pander to other science-denying lunatics.

Always curious about the pay and benefits argument:

According to district data, the median salary for the 2021-22 school year is:

  • $65,987.72 for an elementary school teacher
  • $64,049.87 for a middle school teacher
  • $69,086.51 for a high school teacher

^Is that supposed to be bad? They also had a helluva CB hybrid plan thrown at them a few years ago and had a fit about....

The fact of the matter is, the JCPS school board is just representing it’s constituency. Louisville has had a Democratic mayor since 1969, a Democratic US Representative since 2007, and the current Metro Council is 19 Democrats to 7 Republicans.
As long the people vote like that, the names may change but it’s doubtful the viewpoints will. It’s partially why the population in Oldham County and Simpsonville is exploding.

Hopefully it isn't like California where a portion of the loons get fed up with the policy, move to more conservative areas, and continue to vote democrat.

They should have no reason to move from Jefferson County. Everything is going their way. It will take quite a few, I don’t know what Oldham is but Shelby is 3 to 1 big R.
