Yep. He got PAID too. Second highest salary behind only Saban at Alabama. I haven't really followed this all that closely, so I don't know the connection to A&M for Fischer, but there has to be some for how badly they wanted him. 7 year 75 million dollar contract guaranteed.

There must be a lot going on behind the scenes. Going from FSU to Texas A&M is a step down, but also now he has to look up at Saban in his division every year.

Not necessarily. When Miami was in their heyday, FSU usually was third in the state behind the hurricanes and gators. Texas has as many quality football players as Florida. Jumbo’s been looking up at Dabo lately maybe he’s thinks Saban is ready to move on or retire.

Facilities and comfort level with school administration from what I hear.

It is crazy how much money these coaches are getting all in a race to be Alabama. I think Fisher, at this price, is a huge gamble. He was ranked 2nd in the country and finished 6-6. That would never happen at Alabama with Saban. They were no longer the dominant team in the ACC. He maybe a good coach but SEC West is brutal with LSU and Auburn. Are they going to be happy with the occasional 10 win season? They are probably a 8-9 win a year program just like 90 percent of the rest of the country.

It appears 10 wins is the fans happy place, 9 is OK unless the fanbase expected 10 wins, 8 wins is ho-hum and 7 wins equal a lot of empty seats. Bottom line their aren't many happy fanbases. I doubt A&M fans will be happy when it is all said and done.

When Saban retires, he (Fisher) will be looking up at Dabo again. Dabo will probably be Saban's replacement at Alabama.... Plus we might not want to sleep on Texas A&M too much. I've felt for years that with the right coach. That A&M could be a juggernaut that would give Alabama all they could eat. With all the 4&5-Star recruits in Texas plus Fisher's recruiting ties in Florida. I'm telling you, look out for Texas A&M!

Swinney isn’t going to replace Saban - no way, no how.

Personally, I don't think so either but it is his alma mater. IMO Dabo has built something at Clemson that he can't walk away from. Who'd a thunk it?
