This is just my opinion but I thought he was great last night. He was honest and saw the game like it was. Spoke well of our guys when they deserved it and was not one sided in the least bit.
I really enjoyed him doing the game and I wish he would do more but we will get stuck with Bilas again I am sure of it.

Bilas can be annoying but Dickie V is probably worse and Dakich is the GOAT of awful. Does Elmore do games anymore?

He did and any KY fans complaining are just wrong. Dykes is an S-E-C guy. Always has been, It's practically tattooed on his forehead. Also, see the guy on the far right in the photo? ;) If any of you have the 1988 Duke-Kentucky game, you'll see Dykes on the bench sporting some curls. (Duke won 80-55, HOF Tip off Classic in Mass.)

I’m glad you started a thread about him, I was thinking of doing one myself. Thought he did a great job and was spot on with his compliments and analysis of Zion. Definitely a nice change of pace with him on the call last night.

Elmore was laid off by ESPN at the close of the 2017 season. He's been doing games for FOX the last two seasons. I honestly think Shane Battier was the worst commentator I've heard on ESPN. He was rough. Probably why he only lasted for a year.

I always liked him even if he is an SEC guy. It doesn't kill us to hear a different point of view, so long as it's not way over the top like Dakich.

Frankly, I find it hard to watch Big Ten games, in general but particularly if Dakich is doing the game. You would have thought Ethan Happ was the second coming of Shack last night, even after having 2 shots in a row blocked by smaller players. On the second one, Dakich said "Happ didn't shoot that to go in, he shot it to be fouled, which he was". What I saw was a referee bail out on a guy with limited physical skills.

Sorry for hijacking but I had to get that off my chest.

What was Dakich doing put on the floor with that blonde last night? He was demonstrating post defense with her and the teams came out on the floor after the TO and the ref and inbounder where standing there waiting for him to finish. Never saw that before. Blonde looked a bit embarrassed as they held up the game.

I like to laugh at him but he was fantastic. He said UT is the best team in the country(they aren’t) but they’re better then everyone not named duke. I wish we could get him for more games

he said nothing about zions garbage screen foul. he commented on a bunch of duke "no" calls. that did it for me

I had absolutely no issue with Dykes last night. He called it like he saw it... we were getting our tails kicked. He definitely gave credit where it was due, though. This is what it's like when Dickie V isn't calling every game. I love him, but he definitely has a Duke bias.

I don’t like him. I don’t like many of them. I like grant hill. He’s not doing it to get noticed, he just calls the game with good insight.

Dykes is definitely a homer, but I like him.

Throw me in with the unpopulars that love Bilas and Shulman, too.

Vitale is annoying. Dakich is worse.

Who doesn’t like Schulman? He’s the best play-by-play guy on ESPN IMO. I like Bilas too (my Bilas opinion has evolved over time). Bilas tried too hard to not be perceived as pro Duke early on in his announcer career, but he’s found his equilibrium.

He also commented on how when Tre Jones got hammered on the layup that it was possibly a Flagrant 1 that was missed by the officials and should have been a foul.
Did you watch the game and actually listen to the commentary

Dykes is the same about the SEC as Dakich is with the Big Ten. Hopefully he doesn't do anymore Duke games this season.

Yeah I actually did. And he referenced quite a few garbage duke fouls that “ should’ve been called” that one was blatantly obvious, jalen rose would’ve called that one.

Freaking great interview! Dykes may be a SEC homer as some may call him, but the man calls it like he sees it. I've watched the replay 4 times already, and he was both critical and complementary when both was warranted. Maybe I was watching a different game then some others, but give me Dykes anytime calling a duke game. Another thing, listen and see how many times him and Rece got off subject talking about something other than the game. Forgot what it sounds like to hear a game called without 75% BS and the other 25% calling the game. Just my take on it.

The only ones on TV that I think genuinely dislike Duke are Len Elmore and Jalen Rose.. to a lesser extent Greenberg, but I think he just does it to play devils advocate and piss people off.

One or two people above said they didn't like Bilas and Schulman. Seems weird to me.
