Jinxes, birthday wishes, magic spells, prayers, hexes, voodoo dolls, wish bones, lucky rabbit’s foot and a black cat bone all work the same amount. Not at all!

A lot of it is the new car syndrome. You go out and buy a new cat, then notice everyone seemed to have the same idea. Not ok not that, but they bought the same make, model, year, and color, you just got. No. No they didn't. You just notice that car on the road now because you got one.

I listened to a podcast I think years ago regarding deja vu and coincidences. It’s exactly what you just said—when u are looking for certain things it’s really not that big a coincidence when u see them.

Think it was This American Life podcast. That shows has really I think went downhill buts that’s a good episode. Some girl sends a ballon with a note in it from England and it ends up at another girl with the same name and age in Ireland or something. Lots of those kinda examples but explaining why they aren’t so unbelievable from an odds standpoint.

I’ve mentioned this before, but whenever I hear any part of “Roundabout” by Yes, something bad will happen within twenty-four hours. I think it has something to do with Chris Squire’s bass line.
