Looking at the regular season schedules, you have to give
Northeastern credit for 2 decisive wins against 3A opponents Rocky Mount and Greenville Rose.
I would say James Kenan’s wins over Whiteville and. Wallace Rose Hill are solid. A win over East Duplin this year doesn’t carry as much weight as it normally would.
I have already said I hope James Kenan wins but I believe Northeastern should be favored. If JK starts out slow and gets behind a couple of scores it could get out of hand.
Goobs has taken a lot of heat over the years for his optimism. He never fails to call it like he thinks it will be and more than a few times he has been wrong but he keeps supporting his Eagles.
I will say this, when fans start talking amongst themselves they can over inflate certain aspects of their team’s performance and begin to believe their team is better than they really are. Nothing wrong with that, but there may be a day of reckoning- when they step off the bus and catch one in the mouth. I prefer to walk and talk softly, even when my team is having a good year. Some posters don’t and that’s cool because what a boring place it would be if we were all the same.
I think these boards are better when any personal insults/posts are never sent.
My plan for Friday is to be heading home from the deer woods ready to follow all of these games. Such an exciting time of the year.
. Rose finished 2-8 and caught fire when the playoffs started.Honestly man, not sure what else there is for you to understand. The style NE play it is gone be easy for them to run the clock on folks. we keep it on the ground and the score is gone stay low in our games. fact of the matter is that we beat both teams who in the other eastern semi, plus WRH who a clear top 5 team in the east. NE was 14-7 at half with GC? should I go on? with all that bein said we def the big underdog friday night. but the game is played for a reason. we coming hungry. NE didnt beat rocky mount bad as tarboro, who didnt beat SWE nearly as bad as WRH. we can score compare all you want its useless. JK done beat all the big dogs in the east except NE. cant wait to give em all we got.

Even tho WRH beat JK once I still think JK is the better team, the JK players just seem to feel the pressure a whole lot when playing the dogs and it gets to them. Week 1 JK played swansboro and NE played Bertie, it’s fair to say SB nor Bertie are
Competitive teams but Bertie was the “tougher” opponent
Week 2 JK played Midway and NE played J.H Rose. Midway came second in their conference and finished the season with and 8-2 regular season record. J.H Rose finished 2-8 and didn’t do anything in their conference. However Roses conferences is probably the toughest conference in 3A, Rose is def the tougher opponent.
Week 3 JK v Whiteville and NE v Rocky mount. Whiteville is in the fourth round won their conference and is a top contender in the playoffs. RM finished 7-5 on the season and were an average 3A team. Whiteville is the better team.
Week 4 JK v East blades and NE v First flight. Not going into detail for this one we all know East bladen is the tougher opponent.
Week 5 JK V ED NE v Holmes. Another one where I’m not going into detail, even tho ED is down their still better than Holmes.
Week 6 JK v south lenior and NE v Hertford. Both teams are pushovers but south lenior is even more of a push over. Hertford is tougher
That leaves us at 3-3
For the sake of my time the remaining weeks JK played SWO, NL, Kinston, and WRH. NE played Camden county, Manteo, C. County and P. County. Let’s be very very realistic here any of the 4 teams remaining in JK conference play wipe the remaining of NE conference play.
Leaving us 7-3 in the battle of “tougher opponents” despite the weak schedule NE is a force to be reckoned with, their good no doubt. But their hardly tested. Jk has shown heart in 4 different tooth and nail dog fights this season. I don’t want to take anything away from NE, nobody does, we don’t deny NE is a great team. And I myself am not taking personal shots at anyone, Goob has been talking down on JK as if they don’t have good history. And take away the history this season alone they’ve proven that their not a team to be talked down on. Goob says he wanted the bulldogs instead of the tigers because he wants his rematch
Now to finish my yapping session, I respect NE and I admire the fan that goob is. I don’t respect the constant belittling of James kenan from him and I really hope they go knock the hate out his mouth this Friday. This game is going to be a good one, no doubt. But every JK poster has given NE their props when making their predictions, while everyone rooting against JK has been very negative when speaking abt JK which is why we are a little jumpy regardless, best of luck to both teams.
Yeah you not lying there’s plenty of teams that JK could’ve ran the score up on but JK is not a stat padding team…he even kneeled the ball on the 4 yard line vs Kinston towards the end of the gameLOLit’s called having class. Do you seriously think James kenan is incapable of running up the score on pudding pop teams. Coach Grady is a man with class and understands there’s kids on the other team too, other coaches have thanked him for not doing so. When we get a nice cushion he puts in the players who don’t get a lot of PT, something a lot of other coaches don’t do. There’s 3/4 games where James kenan could’ve scored 80 if they put petal to the metal the whole game. But that’s classless, don’t embarrass the other kids, and let the ones on your team who don’t play much get out there on the field.
Nah it don’t mean a dang who has played who. It’s JK @ NE Friday night and that is all that matters. That is what coaches need to be focused on. Both teams have earned the right to be there.

It’s pretty easy to do it when you can play you’re bench throughout the regular season and still go 10-0
but no one is saying to the contrary about that and regardless this isn’t the past 7 years this is this year. NE has a rich history… of losing in the most important game.Cant wait for the tigers to swat the eagles out the air. I announced football for 10+ years in the Raleigh area and have seen some of the biggest programs in the state play. I do understand good football. Both of these teams are good teams.
