Are you sure about that!?

I see where you get your username.

When people simply call out stupid comments, that is not being a keyboard warrior. No one threatened him or got aggressive with him, people just called out his stupid argument for being wrong.

I’m gonna make you really
mad by asking what restrictions were put on recruits. The contract clearly states players are free to sign 3rd party and private deals without JMI having involvement.
I'm not mad. I read the articles that had all this stuff in it. And no, I'm not going to bother finding the links for you. They have already been posted. And yes they can try to find endorsement on their own with no help from school or jmi but they won't be able to tie that to UK in any way...no name, no logo, no jersey....don't play dumb and pretend like none of this is an issue for recruits. Because they and their agents have stated it is.

This is about the dumbest take I have read.

jMI was our media partner back then. They held the rights to radio broadcasts and didn’t have jack **** to do with recruiting in 2015 because it was still illegal to buy a recruit a burger then.

Many think the JMI deal is new but we’ve been with them since 2015.
Cal had no problem landing top recruiting classes.

I don’t want Cal back. But is it Pope? Is it JMI? Is it both?

I think the biggest issue honestly is that Pope is dragging his feet hiring a GM and we’re falling farther behind.

Pope is a lot like Barnhart. Very slow to make a move.
Give it a rest. You don’t know what you’re talking about.

Besides, your whole premise is freakishly illogical.

The new deal with JMI is highly problematic if any of Jack Pilgrim's sources can be trusted (and his sources by his own contention are just regular people, players and families and agents).

JMI could have had the perfect contract with us 2015 through 2025 and then inked the worst contract in history. The previous ten-year contract has no necessary bearing at all on the current contract.

Why are you not seeing that?

JMI has an ACE in their pocket.

JMI may have been working with UK before, but it is the new deal with JMI that is the issue.

So basic trademark law that has always been in effect. It’s even done at other schools even though you all falsely claim that it isn’t. What Indont accept is the false claims you continuously make.
If Pope backing off on the analytics is true, then I bet his recruiting will get a lot better.

Absolutely correct! And, the newly added “wording” to the contract was just added recently, probably before the contract extension.
I doubt we can get this contract language out of our deal with JMI but we should try. I mean, if that provision about a kid having to run any other NIL deal through JMI is true and it's clearly costing us good players, I'd fight them in court to have it removed.

Having said that I don't know the language exactly but I have no idea why we would have signed a deal sign a deal that hamstrings us with no recourse.

Someone has egg on their face about now if this is the case. Whoever locked us into this should be fired every thing else being equal.

The deal signed last year put more restrictions on the recruit....the biggest being that the recruit basically has to sign away their nil rights to jmi for an upfront sum. And can't do anything with anyone not associated with jmi without jmi approval, which they won't get and can't use the UK logo/brand without jmi approval, which they won't give. A recruit would be stupid to sign that.
Recruits have lawyers to keep them from signing stupid agreements, Mitch doesn't have anyone to stop him

Dude. Sorry but where have you been hiding?? The New JMI deal turned all NIL over to them to negotiate. Before they just had our media and logo rights. Completely different.

I don’t understand how this could be remotely difficult to understand and why people won’t accept it. It’s directly in front of your face.

this is why this country is so bad off. I’m serious, I just don’t see why it’s so hard to understand how these things work.

Yep. And according to some Tennessee guys and a beat writer from the Memphis area neither of them have heard of any restrictions like it.

We’ve got a burning mountain of fire and still a few stand back and say “ produth the thientific evidenths”

Its untenable.

You know, it does kind of pinpoint a time during Cal's tenure at UK, where he stopped getting THE top class, and Duke took over. This was right around when Duke landed Tatum and Giles, and ever since, they've kind of been the leader in recruiting. I would bet JMI even made things difficult for a guy like Cal, the timelines sure seem to line up.
calipari started loosing recruits when he snubbed Phil Knight and coach K decided to go all in on the OAD. Team USA gave K the ability to say he’s coached LeBron, Kobe, Duncan etc. He was slipping before the NIL came into the game. He’s still recruiting to the same levels at Arkansas. Duke takes their pick, Calipari gets what’s left.

I see the connection but it’s the same it was before the NIL became a thing. I know one of the wealthy backers believes when he snubbed Phil Knight he burned a bridge. I think Calipari thought his system couldn’t possibly be undone by Duke because coach K was so against players leaving early that he thought no way he’d take his players in the current climate. Coach K had a terrible reputation with freshman players until that point. Terrible rep. Cal never saw how he could possibly get his after his wave of success. He underestimated the power of Nike / Team USA / Coach K favoritism with the NCAA and Nike.

It’s not to going get better. These restrictions are a death sentence. They’ll try and land one here or there to pretend it’s going well, but then lose a ton of them. JMI and Mitch Barnhart are 100% destroying Kentucky basketball. It’s not debatable that’s why all of the suspects around college basketball are saying, agents don’t like JMI. I just don’t understand what’s so hard about this.
