Just because he can do it doesn't mean he should. When he's lined up out wide, he's rarely going to be able to help in the run game. He's probably our best pass rusher and he can't do that where he's lined up either. He has good coverage skills for a linebacker, but that's because linebackers are generally terrible in coverage. Even a mediocre DB would have better coverage ability than him.
You're right, he's very versatile. But there were way too many times he ended up coving top wideouts. That ain't winning football.

That’s absolutely what it means. Who else on the defense can do what JoJo does consistently? No one? Ok that means JoJo has to do it.
It's good that he can leave the box and do okay, but he's much better near the LOS. It does us a disservice when he's lined up on receivers all game.
It really doesn’t though. He can come on a blitz from anywhere on the field, and have a genuine opportunity to make a play because of the fact he’s not in the box every play. It frees up other guys to make plays. Chins loves versatility. The more guys he has to move around, the better we will be.

Versatility is fine at certain times and when you have other guys that can do their jobs properly. The problem is we don't have that and we need Jojo at the line.
Who? I see Payne backing up Nelson on one side and Wright backing up JoJo on the other. Maybe Tannor takes his ball and goes home, but he is basically a pass rushing specialist that can’t get to the QB this point. Maybe Niko, but he’s a special teams player. As long as those 4 and the young guys with promise like Butler and Gunnerson are all happy, I feel pretty good.
Young guys with promise are what I worry about. Frost needs to win now though so keeping JoJo is a good deal. Sigh. I hate the new transfer rules.

If you don't realize the strengths and weaknesses on your team, you're also an idiot. He is a good playmaker around the line and a decent pass rusher, which is an area where we struggle. Instead you have him covering receivers all game where he's mediocre at best. You could put any mediocre DB out there who can do a better job of covering receivers than Jojo. It's a complete waste of his talents how we're playing him.
Oh you could? Who can you put out there besides him that’ll lock down and make plays like he does? I’d love to hear who you’ve got in mind. He’s still around the LOS quite often though lol. You should look up stats before you make unfounded claims..you don’t lead the team in tackles if you’re in coverage every play.
Newsome, Delancey, Farmer, Gifford. Guys who didn't have to put on a bunch of weight to play the LB position.
Right. Nothing wrong with having him do both. You put him in the box when you absolutely have to load it, but otherwise you want him in open field so he can roam and make plays. He’s pretty damn instinctual.

We had a bunch of safeties and corners leading the team in tackles in 2007 I believe. That's what happens on bad defenses.
You keep Jojo on the field pass rushing, take Tannor off the field, and you add an extra guy who can cover and has some speed. Would have been a heck of a lot better than having worthless Tannor as our main pass rusher.
lol you’re just comedy at this point. You use the best players to their full ability at all times. Period.
That's exactly what I'm saying. Jojo's a lot better at the line pass rushing and making plays stopping the run. He's a mediocre coverage guy and playing him as a coverage guy doesn't make good use of his abilities.
He led the team in tackles and TFL’s playing the way he has. I’d say it’s going really well.
It’s pointless to argue with a guy as clueless as him. He like 150 years old and also thinks we need to play smash mouth!!!
If he played closer to the line more often, he'd be doing even better in each category.
