Nothing against Joey Meyer, but I really wish we had a former NU player as the color guy. That's the way it is for most teams and it adds a perspective and a passion that I just don't feel from Meyer.

I agree. Hard to top Shon Morris. He's so good even Iowa likes him.

Joey and his brother were tossed into the wind by their respective universities. Both long time Chicago guys who always handle themselves with class. So, if it's got to be someone who isn't from NU, Joey's not a bad pick.

Joey is great. He explains nuances like the expert he is and clearly cares about the program without channeling Hawk Harrelson. And his commiserating with Brian James at halftime seems 100% authentic. If only our program could give him and Mr. Cat more to be positive about. Can't wait to have him back.
