You can say he got jobbed, but Fields is pretty good too...He made the right choice. He's going to get drafted probably no later than the 2nd round and is getting to play behind a solid O line. Good for him. He would have helped us tremendously IMO. That one game he played a bunch for OSU in the 2nd half I thought he looked like the best QB on OSU's roster. I can understand why he left OSU. He got jobbed.
He left before Fields showed up didn't he? I think he left because of Haskins and personally I don't think Haskins is that good. I think Burrow makes better decisions under pressure and is a better pro prospect. You can say he got jobbed, but Fields is pretty good too...

You may be right... I was thinking he left after spring ball this year, but the more I think about it, this is his second year at LSU... my bad.He left before Fields showed up didn't he? He left before Fields go there. What sucks is he wanted to be a Husker, was a legacy a big time recruit (Mr. Football in Ohio) and we totally ignored him. Twice. You can say he got jobbed, but Fields is pretty good too...
First Pelini, then Riley when he took over and then Frost when he transferred. He left before Fields go there. What sucks is he wanted to be a Husker, was a legacy a big time recruit (Mr. Football in Ohio) and we totally ignored him. Twice.

You wrote just about what I was going to write. I don't know if we showed any interest in him as a transfer, but by that time, I doubt he would have had any interest in us. I really don't think Frost is really to blame here.I genuinely don’t know, and am not trying to stick up for Frost. But after being left out by Pelini and then Riley, would he have come to Nebraska if Frost wanted him? Was he already burned badly enough that he was going elsewhere regardless... Frost didn’t recruit him as a grad transfer, correct? He went with the guy who had 4 years eligibility instead of 2?
He was born a Husker, it's gotta hurt when the team you dreamed of playing for your entire childhood snubs you 3 times in 5 years. One of the bigger recruiting screw ups in the history of Husker football, but that's all we've done for 20 years. Best of luck to Burrow he's got a fan in me.First Pelini, then Riley when he took over and then Frost when he transferred.![]()
Riley tried to recruit him, but it was too little too late. Bo and Beck missed the boat on him, to go after a Swedish kid that ended up playing H-Back at UNT.Shows Danny Langsdorf as his recruiter for Nebraska on his Rivals profile - that pretty much says everything that needs to be said about Riley and Co. It's not like he wasn't a great high school quarterback either, he did have a commitable Ohio State offer after all.
If Nebraska missed on Martinez I assume Frost would have went after Burrow hard. It probably wasn't a true either/or scenario, but Frost found the guy he wanted to build around in Martinez.

I think he may mean we showed no interest in him initially. I do remember we tried to get in on him late, and tried to get him for a visit. A World-Herald article from 2015 even quotes him as saying that we tried to change his mind. So for him to say now that we never showed any interest in him would contradict his own words.Pelini definitely dropped the ball, but it's hard to for me to say the next staff did their part based on what Burrow said with the instant "none" response.

Cheering for LSU and Burrow to win the SEC this season. So tired of Bama year after year. Love the Tiger’s coach too! Geaux Tigers
Agree, he made the right choice going with an elite program. Can’t imagine he would have even considered Nebraska as we have not done anything of significance in over a decade. LSU made the right choice, OSU obviously made the right choice, I suppose Nebraska thinks they did too....He made the right choice. I haven’t watched him yet (and don’t remember how he looked when he played against us that year)...is he a dual threat, Meaning could he have managed Frosts offense had we offered him early on and gotten him here?
I believe so...He might not be as good a runner than AM but obviously he is the one that is playing like a Heisman candidate...
well being fair, at that time A. Martinez was looking like a future Heisman runner and Joe Burrow hadn’t played much at all. Martinez did look like the obvious answer. No one could have expected or guessed Martinez would play like he has this year...no one. Martinez could (and WILL) snap out of this eventually and get back to his old self. I have no clue what’s going on with him.
Another cocky Frost quote...imagine that?

#wastedtalentShhhhh..... You'll upset those who worship him here. I'm glad we got him as a coach but he isn't perfect and probably set this rebuild back 2 years with this one move.
Understand. We have a coach in training and he will learn to speak more like a professional as the B1G adapts to us Winking.well being fair, at that time A. Why would he need Burrow? We are going to be competing for the west this year and then it just goes up from here. No one is going to remember that loss to CU when we win the B1G.Another cocky Frost quote...imagine that?
Wow, I swear you lack the brains sometimes my man. We (or I anyways) was talking about when Burrow was transferring from OSU.

Well I think we probably would've made a bowl game last year with Burrow at QB. We'd have for sure beaten Troy, probably beat CU and N'western too. What one move... please elaborate...
Dude, martinez hadn't taken a ****ing snap at Nebraska when he transferred from OSU. Look at the date on the tweet then get back to me about brainpower.
