I heavily doubt Udoka just nailed some random employee. I bet this was the daughter of someone big there (owner, CEO, etc). After what he did with that team last year? Very irregular decision. The NBA isn't even involved.
This is too good to keep a lid on if true. Someone will spill.
Dipping the pen in the company ink will get ya more often than not. Hope Joe does well ... but maybe not so well WVU is beneath him when Huggs retire.
I agree with this, but there are only so many NBA jobs. That being said, you can tell Huggs loved Joe and that it was mutual. I think if Huggs asks he would say yes.IMO coaching in the NBA and college are two entirely different beasts. An NBA coach is more or less the team chaperone for much of the year where intensive game planning doesn’t become a major factor until the postseason. They don’t manage the roster but are mainly managing egos to keep everyone happy. A college coach has a shorter season but has much more going on day to day. They are the coach, GM, chaperone, fundraiser, and everything in between on top of dealing with a more immature personnel. A passion for teaching, ability to relate to all different walks of life, and scouting ability, are all needed on top of Xs and Os.
I don’t believe Joe wants the WVU job, or any college job for that manner. He didn’t end up where he is in the pro game by accident.
Especially when it is commonly referred to as a consensual relationship. Udoka isn't even married! You are probably right as a winner can get away with a lot and banging some low level staffer isn't worth suspending a winner. I do not follow the NBA, so I could see it as a PR move to stay ahead of things if the Celtics were in a rebuild and likely out if contention this season. In any event, I hope Joe does well and gets good experience out of this opportunity. Hopefully it spring boards him on to bigger and better things.

Lots of NBA head coaches also return to coach in college.Yea but once you are in, then you are in for life. Hes 34 and regardless of circumstances is presently the head coach for the NBA's most storied franchise. His arrow is pointing up, and even if he doesnt land the gig full time he is now part of that fraternity and he will be the head coach somewhere else in a short period. If/when he gets fired from that job, he will end up somewhere else as well. Thats pretty much how coaching in the pros go, they all hire/fire each other, and as long as you dont disrespect the league brass, then there will always be a landing spot.
