I saw a post where this is buzzing around. Is there any legitimacy to this and what are our initial thoughts?

There was smoke on Sunday. Word is new Ole Miss head coach, Golding, would like him back in Oxford where he was previously co-OC.

Beamer didn't move fast enough. He's currently making his list.

There is an inverse relationship between the length of time it takes to hire an OC and the quality of OC we will get.

Quite typical for the Beamer hiring process. How many schools have now fired and successfully *hired* HEAD COACHES?!? We can't even get an OC hired...... The longer it goes on, the more likely it'll be the asst. ST analyst for the Browns, of former scout team QB of the '22 Bears..... who retired from football that year. (Yes, Beamer has lost me completely.....)

There's the slim chance that hes waiting to announce because the guy is currently on a playoff staff? Maybe?

I dont really think so either, but one can hope.

Kentucky hired a head coach in 24 hours.

Possible, but UK pulled the OC from the #7 CFP team.

I just read an article where all the new head coaches hired in the SEC were rated. They all got As and Bs according to the authors of the piece. My guess is one or two of them will have early success. However, I am reminded of the fine print on every investment ad: “past performance does not guarantee future performance “.
