This is a shocker to me. He was only 61 and I don't recall health problems in the news.

Actually, he missed a significant amount of time on the air a few years ago due to some kind of an illness-but I don't know that they ever said what it was and it may not have had anything to do with this anyway.

Really enjoyed Saunders at halftime of games on ABC. For me, he's the Keith Jackson of college football halftime. RIP

One of the all time greats in my opinion, he was Mr. Halftime for college football for many years. What happened, was he sick? I could have sworn I just saw him on tv just last week. Condolences to all his family and close friends and co-workers.
