He's finally hit rock bottom at Division II Kentucky State..I remember the bowl game where the Lil Brothers on the side lines were on their cell phones finding out that Johnelle Smith had flown the coop and taken the
Michigan State job..even before the game was over Johnelle had retreated to his office as Tommy Turtleneck was chasing him out the door.
How many times have coaches left uavel in the lurch..Cholly Strong and Honest Bob Petrino to name a few..A Stepping Stone job..Nothing more..[roll]

Funny, if anyone should know what rock bottom looks like I believe someone convicted of impersonating a police office so as to escort sports personnel would certainly serve as a subject matter expert. :basketball:

I have always like John L. even though he was at UL. He really got UL off the ground and is a big reason they are where they are today. Sure, he played a lot of fluff competition at UL and he was slightly exposed as a mid level coach when he bolted for Mich St and then took over for Petrino at Arkansas. May be a little to long in the tooth to do many great things at K-State but wouldn't be surprised if he does some nice things there. Most of his family is still in Louisville so I guess it's just a opportunity to stay close to them and coach at non pressured situation.

Agreed. He's a likable character (and darn good coach) in a sport that has too few of them anymore.

So the 3 UofL coaches you mentioned above all left for better jobs. How many UK coaches in the last 20 years have left for a better job ?

How many UK coaches had UofL's schedules?
I can't argue that but the fact still remains that bigger programs came after our coaches. I was just mainly messing with the OP because he only talks about UofL. I have never seen him start start a topic about just the team he follows.
