At this point, Manziel probably needs to go to Canada, and (1) on the field, light the CFL on fire, and (2) off the field, avoid so much as a tweet showing him slurping a beer. He needs to manage that for two years minimum.

Nati it might be even deeper than that...Manziel father just told Adam Schefter of ESPN that if his son doesn't get help he might not live to see his 24th birthday...crazy situation..

I hope he gets help and somehow turns his life around. More times than not people with issues like this can't get their act together. I don't care for him but if he's sick (and I'd say he makes a strong case for it) then I can only hope he changes his ways. No question in my mind that he's got some serious mental problems.

Why do you hope he gets help? Why does Johnny football elicit more compassion and care from people like you than the kid down your street who is a heroin addict? I guess Johnny is more important because he's famous.

Personally, I don't care if Johnny puts himself in a grave any more than I do the person down my street who is struggling with drug addiction.

Manziel is not special. In fact, he's a loser idiot who just happens to be able to throw a football better than most people. I could care less about him and I'm sick of pro athletes getting special attention.

Personally I don't give a rats rear end about Johnny Football. He is just a shining example of the bad side of professional athletes. They are molly coddled during the Prep and college days and even in the NFL to some extent, as long as they're having success. Social skills need to be taught to all students growing up, stop wiping their tears when they cry, most of the younger generation is so spoiled and have that sense of entitlement. The world needs to rollback all of the PC crap and people need to start sacking up and accepting responsibility for their own actions, Johnny football included.

If I was his agent, I'd dump him too. He has no chance at getting a contract and no shot at any endorsements. On top of that, who wants to even be associated with him?

Irving, Snoop, Obama, The Wizard of Oz, Dr, Phil, none of these people can help him. Only HE can help himself when he is ready. I deal with people like him everyday. The change must come from within. If he's not ready, it won't happen.

Slow down. He's no more special to me than anyone. I'm just not a big fan of someone dying due to addiction / mental issues. The Johnny Manziel I know is a scum bag punk jerk..... but apparently he has that illness. I'm giving him the same compassion I'd give anybody in his shoes. I'm not nearly as nice as you apparently think I am but I'm very much anti death to people who are screwed up. His family seems to think he's suicidal so my guess is he's a candidate to kill himself. He's done a lot of bad things and I think he needs to somehow repair all of the damage he's done (and more) but the kid's sick and I hope he (and anyone in the same boat) could turn their life around instead of becoming a statistic. You sound like an angry person.

Two words: "Character matters"

To be sure, NFL teams and even college programs aren't recruiting guys to be Boy Scouts, priests, etc., but the Browns are learning a costly lesson in putting a person who was know to have dubious character in an important position.

Even more embarrassing is the fact that he wore Tim Couch's jersey number.:grimace:

I'd rather him (or anybody in a bad situation like that) get help than end up dead. But that's just me.
