I see more minutes for Johnson and less minutes for McNeil and McCabe if there is any minutes left to take away from McCabe.

Agreed on both! McCabe does not seem to be able to play defense and usually makes some bad decisions passing and McNeil is hit or miss when it comes to shooting! When he is on it is wow, but when he misses it is terrible! If he is injured as Huggins indicates then is already suspect defense is worse!

Kedy provides something at PG that Deuce doesn't. He is a little quicker and he certainly sees the floor better and distributes better because of that. Playing both at the same time IMO is the best of both worlds. Where do the mins come from? Some from McCabe, but he will still be needed for short periods. He's still a great ball handler and foul shooter. McNeil will lose some till his toe heals. Some will come from the Wings. This may allow Huggs to play 3 G's more. Kedy's presence on the floor certainly opened things up for us and we did move the ball much better on O. The energy he brought on D was evident.

Look at the next two games and look at their guards.

Quick feet is the key. I remember when McCabe was a freshman and some thought he was going to be something because he had a few games putting up some points
But his feet always looked like they were in concrete.

Things obviously can change but...

Johnson
McBride
Sherman

Texas plays with 3 guards. All fast.
Baylor plays with 3-4 guards. All quick.

It does not hurt that the three guards are 6'2, 6'3 and 6'4. They are not undersized and McBride is the shortest and probably the most athletic. We will see how that plays out in the next two.

Davidson is the only team that gave Texas issues with their offense
It is because they have a positionless offense and forced Texas into matchups they couldn't switch on.

Plus they shot the ball extremely well.

If you ever want to learn offensive basketball watch Davidson.

Because of that WVU most likely needs to crack down on the defensive end

Villanova did a decent job at not allowing Texas to drive and kick.
Forced Texas into mistakes and took advantage of them.

Having guards that can guard 1 v 1 is the key

Johnson has overall speed with hands speed second only to JC. They could press and trap to kick those first half doldrums. Actually have 4 guards along with Gabe to take the in bound. Would like to give these guys a chance on D. Taz, KJ and Mcbride could hound the ball. I think they could revive press.

Eventually they could do something like this

But because of how experienced both Texas and Baylor are in the backcourt I don't think it will be something that Huggins will lean on in these games.
Both teams have 3 guards who have over 200 career starts combine.

Especially with Texas because of Greg Brown and Kai Jones.
They run the floor like guards

I don't think Huggins really wants to speed game up.
