Thanks for confirming my understanding of your earlier post. Generally a coach is given 4-5 years to show whether or not he's got things going the right direction, although in Joker's case it was obvious early in year 3 that it wasn't so he deservedly got canned.
Barnhart maybe shouldn't have given Stoops the extension when he did but that ship has sailed. For contract reasons Stoops will get his fifth year short of an incredibly bad dumpster fire 2016 season and/or Baylor type scandal
If you're that unhappy with UK FB, you have the option not to watch the games and not to post on this board.
Agreed. He didn't have the success we wanted as head coach, but Joker is a Wildcat. He was a good player for Kentucky and a good OC under Brooks. I also don't think it's fair to continue blaming Joker for any current problems that we have. I wish Joker the best in the future.Joker is a Cat,, not a good head coach here for sure but I hope he is successful in whatever he does. Good luck to ya Joker!
Talked to an ex player at length and am one of those fans and this post is RIGHT ON THE MONEY! !It is amazing that anyone can defend what happened to UK under Joker in any way. Pulling out recruiting rankings which become irrelevant after kids are on campus is just obscuring the reality of what happened to a program that went from being competitive to being abysmal in 3 years. Joker was a successful coordinator at UK only when under the tutelage of a HOF head coach in Rich Brooks. He was a position coach at all other stops. He inherited a solid program with a good staff and took it down while alienating players and fans at every opportunity. He was a good player and member of Brooks' staff. He was a terrible head coach and his career since then indicates he has some issues which haven't been resolved. There is no parallel with Mark Stoops on any level. Let him go.
