and your point? Nobody has said a person should be required to get
The vaccine
are you kidding? I've read plenty of post from people stating that exact thing. my point is people do plenty of activities that others do not agree with. same people that are calling people stupid or idiotic for not getting vaccinated are most likely taking part in activities that increase chances of injury or death. so I guess we are all not as clever as we think we are!

People used to give the following reasons for not wearing seatbelts
-they wouldn’t be able to escape if the vehicle was on fire or underwater
-they knew someone who had a relative that was in a wreck and the seatbelt crushed their chest.

I have a pretty good feeling that anti-vaccine people are some of the same weirdos that were anti-seatbelt back in the day.

Also, I think most anti vaccine people are likely just scared of needles. Just admit you don’t like shots because they scare you
I’m not anti-vax but haven’t gotten it either. Do not plan to...but also, to the contrary...I love needles too much. I would shoot my food if I could. Used to love slamming stuff in the 70s and 80s.

brother you are asking for it. these self righteous a-holes are gonna let you know just how far beneath them you are. for the record...I am anti-vax for myself. I don't care if others aren't. just don't criticize my decision.

for the same reason we have to read about hypocrite's getting on here to solicit prayers. be a good christian....and forgive me!
Actually I am just going to put you on ignore. I have at no point in your rambling, incoherent responses read anything that could even be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this message board is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul. How is that for a prayer for you?

I’m not anti seat belt or vaccine but I shouldn’t be forced to do either by people I elect to represent me

Do you have anything new to add? We’ve known from the start that, at best, these vaccines were hoped to be in the mid-90% effective range. What we’ve learned since the shots actually started being given, is that the effectiveness is actually better than originally hoped — as your article points out. Thanks for sharing, but I haven’t read anything newsworthy yet. Old news really.
Considering the Nature article was just released with up to date statistics, no, there's really nothing more to add at this point. I found it newsworthy that natural immunity appears to be better than vaccine immunity since the talking points up until now have been everyone should be vaccinated.

wow.. you have never had a close call or accident while using alcohol? one lucky fella
I've never had an accident with another vehicle in my 40+ years of driving. And yes, I do enjoy a drink or three from time to time and have driven when I shouldn't but kept it between the lines.

between the two of us rational thought favors my position. you are the one believing in an invisible man living in the clouds that will fix all of your problems.
no points...say it ain't so Joe!
perhaps you have realized you need not talk sh*t to every poster that you don't agree with. I would run too!

my point... we as individual humans make choices. you wear a helmet for safety, which would be considered a safety conscientious choice. having a drink or three impairs judgement (driving when you shouldn't) thus setting aside your concerns for safety.
same as the vax....personal choice. some do not trust in the vax or the government, some do.
I too have enjoyed a drink or three, and when I really want to get crazy. I ride a bike without a helmet.

I agree with you. Get it if you want, don't get it if you want but at least be civil and quit calling people idiots like a 2nd grade school girl.

Likewise, if somebody still wants to wear a mask, no need to call them sheep or idiots.

The reality is, the same behavior that is causing people to still wear masks even after vaccination (their cult like political leaders telling them to) is driving some people to not get vaccinated. The reality is, some see getting vaccinated as a sign that you are liberal or a biden supporter. It's an absurd take because had trump not been president we might not even have the vaccines yet.

I agree with you as well. I have friends with both political parties that have been vaccinated and it doesn’t bother me if the do or if they don’t. I don't get why anyone would be mad with someone else for their choice to either get it or not.

On the seatbelt/helmet argument, a seatbelt can theoretically protect someone from your car going out of control.

If you get hit without one and your head smacks into the steering wheel, you could be knocked out and then there's a 2 ton hunk of steel with no one in control. If you had a seatbelt on, it could have prevented that.

In a motorcycle wreck, once the helmet comes into play, the bike is already down and the only thing it protects is the rider.

Helmets also restrict your vision so there is a negative to wearing one. Although the positives greatly outweigh the one negative.

I wrecked at 120mph on a bike, 25 years ago in 10 days, and would not be here right now without a helmet. I still think it should be a choice and only wear one at night.
