Yea I think we’ve just got one of those fanbases that’s so in love with our team we feel we need to defend it. Also Kentucky has been universally hated as we’re a southern team who was the first to dominate the sport, and much of the media are east coach / northeast guys. I think it’s been ingrained in us over decades. It’s to the point where media heads know hey, throw shade at them and they’ll take it personal. Im not really taking it personal, but I do feel the need to protect the program in a strange way I guess. Maybe because I grew up all UK out of state constantly around a bunch of rival fans. It’s like a button when it’s pushed….
I think a lot of these things are what makes UK’s fanbase so great. I’m proud that we’ve got and are known as one of the great fanbase in sports history, in any league or level.
