I'm hard on Jones but at least he finally had the courage to call out Stoops and _________ Mitch and attempt to hold them somewhat accountable. I'll definitely give him credit for that, especially considering the fact that _______ Mitch is still writing him paychecks and he's risking losing his spot on the pregame show by holding the holy one somewhat accountable. Here's the link http://kentuckysportsradio.com/football-2/for-stoops-and-barnhart-the-time-for-excuses-is-over-2/

If UK football had an easy fix it would have been done a long time ago.

Theres no easy fix, I know that. But when you have a chance to hire a winner (Petrino) or an up-and-comer (Brohm) you take it. Kentucky CAN win in football, no matter what anyone else says. If Duke, Louisville, North Carolina, Michigan State, UCLA, Baylor, and Oregon can do it, Kentucky can do it. I promise you. It just takes an AD with some vision and cojones.

Sure....If we hadn't let dormer basketball players rum the athletics department and set up the good ole boy network, then yeah, that easy fix would have been done a long time ago.

Nobody tried and the fans overwhelmingly didn't care or push back hard enough for whatever reason. I don't know but I'll be damned if we're going to put up with this ineptitude.

A coach like Petrino or Briles can only fall to Kentucky if they are tainted just like Randy Moss fell to the Vikings. For every Tom Herman there are ten Mark Stoopses and it is extremely difficult to tell them apart and if you do not pick the right one you have to wait four to five years for another chance

Can Mormans block and tackle? If they can then fill the team with them and win games. Nothing else matters but winning.

BYU and Utah usually has good teams. So yes. They can. Mormon culture does foster lots of loyalty and hard work. Translates well to team sports like football.

When are we gonna stop using the basketball team as an excuse for how pitiful our football team is? Whined about facilities, money etc well the university invested in the players facilities a recruiting room upgraded CWS etc.. We have had the best 4 recruiting classes in our history. Yet this is the garbage we see on gameday? Somehow I don't think UK sucking in football is the basketball teams fault.

I didn't hear a lot of blame being thrown Mitch's way this morning. In fact just the opposite. I'm guessing there was a "conversation".

He spent an entire segment talking about how Mitch and Stoops either have to "put up or shut up", also referencing his post on his site. But when it comes to biases many people only hear what they want to hear.

He poo pooed MB criticism by saying, "forget it, he's going to be here til 2022". He did criticize Stoops contract extension, but didn't criticize anyone responsible for MB's contract extension, which IMO was the more egregious of the 2.

The only direct statement about Barnhart that I see:

"Mitch Barnhart is a terrific person who has been a tremendous Athletic Director in most phases of his stewardship."

yeah, you're right - really stuck it to him....

yea but this piece is a scathing indictment on Barnhart and Stoops. That statement is just Matt's way of saying "this isn't personal".

Stoops was considered an "up-and-comer" when we hired him.

Stating that MB has a contract until 2022 isn't the same as walking back his criticism of him, which he didn't do. And he's noted multiple times that the dumb extension Stoops was given was on MB (I think Ryan tried to defend it, but not MJ).
