I was just getting ready to post something like that's why Jordan doesnt get any pt. I was in the mind set that even Coach K had accepted the loss and was getting guys like Jordan and Alex some time on the court. I understand now it was game plan and really putting pressure with Jordan and Tre. I didn't understand Alex being out there other than maybe he could knock down some shots but it looked like to me he got backdoored twice. This is why Duke has Coach K out there and not me. OFC

After last night I am beginning to see that maybe Goldwire could be the next Matt Jones for us... His first two years offense is historically bad .... But.... Defense could be a game changer. I just wonder if last night earned him 10 or so minutes a game. It definitely added a new dimension to an already multi dimensional team.

God bless Jordan, the layup was pitiful haha - BUT, his energy and the defensive tempo he set at the front of that press, and in the half court zone, was awesome. He truly spearheaded that comeback last night.

One for the ages!

That lay up! Wow!
It brought back memories of something I did when I was in the 8th grade. I played on the Jr high team and we had wooden backboards. Most all the teams we played did as well. We had a game towards the end of of season at a school that had the nice new glass backboards and I couldn't wait to play! We get a defensive rebound and I take off down the court and receive a pass there is no one with in 20' of me. I put it up in that backboard the same way I always did it at home....the ball bounced off back to the free those line!!! That was a lonely place to be at that moment!!!

I thought he was great as a secondary ball handler as well. It gave Tre some freedom to have him out there. We essentially had 5 ball handlers on the floor at that time.

Granted, we were shooting pretty quick in the last 9 minutes, haha.

Love this quote

Me too. Whenever I watch a game I tend to peek towards the bench to see who's engaged. Jordan is always so focused and I love his animations.

I don't know if you all heard the presser, but coach K made it clear that Jordan will play more and the press might be a thing going forward.

Also interesting to see that on offense, Jordan played like he belonged out there. His teammates treated him like he belonged too. Couple of times the rebounders outletted to him and he led the break. They trusted him with the ball in his hands even though Tre was in the game. He trusted himself too. He took the ball and went. He wasn't looking for Tre to come and get it from him. And, he made good decisions with the ball. Really big development if that continues.

Even though his corner three didn’t go in, it was on line and he did not hesitate.

Jordan made his career vs UL. I think he came to Duke in the hopes of becoming a coach after playing. I doubt he's really an NBA player, but I'd love to be wrong about that. His O needs serious work for that to happen, but his D is great. Playing behind an elite defender like Tre, to say nothing of top tier defenders in Cam and Zion, and the lengthy/athletic RJ, and the high effort of Bolden, well, it is easy for Jordan's D to get overlooked. But its been great, just not when compared to Tre's.
.
But he stamped his DNA over a huge moment in NCAA hoops. One that will live on thanks to the web forever. It is one more brick in the Zion legacy.
.
Which will be invaluable as Jordan hits the recruiting trail for some college (possibly Duke at some point) in the future. He will have a story to tell recruits, and that is one way to make a connection. He helped the team, and really helped himself in his future endeavors in this sport.

If any of you guys have the game recorded, go back and watch Goldwire throughout the last play until Zion gets the rebound.......pretty cool.

Agreed. A great performance by the young man!!

I’m curious to see if Jordan gets some playing time today. Everyone, including K was pretty emotional after the huge comeback. Let’s see what happens now that thing seems have settled down.

I would love to see a deeper rotation if for nothing else than to give our starters a rest here and there but also so guys like Jordan and Alex can get some experience.

There’s a role for Jordan but it doesn’t necessarily need to be every game. You just want to know when the opportunity presents itself he is ready. He proved that against Louisville.

Love this kid's attitude. If DeLaurier can be a captain why not him senior year? If I'm him I'm working with a shooting coach all summer. His defense is already ACC level.

I think a lot of the shooting woes are experience/confidence related. He and Alex need the game to slow down for them (in their heads) to allow them to shoot like they are capable of. That generally takes in game experience.

I really hope K is serious about getting him more time. Any production we can get from the bench, we need. He seemed confident and aggressive and if he can provide solid defense and just take care of the ball on offense, he should get 10-15 minutes going forward. Now, we just need the Big Wallaby and O'Connell to get their strokes going, we could legit go 9 deep.
