Wow..... quite the pessimistic take.
Collins tends to have a short bench. I suspect Nance and Kopp will each get about 8 minutes a game in B1G play. Collins will ride Law, Taylor, Turner, Gaines and Pardon as long as they are healthy.

the freshman will play as long as they show they can defend, score, OR play mistake free (could probably get away with a combination of 2). so far none are showing that ability

Again, I'm living on Mars.

Because what I'm seeing suggests that Collins has to be ecstatic with these frosh.

They can be excellent freshman and not be 20 minutes/game guys. I love what I see from Kopp. Love what I see from Nance. And Greer has exceeded expectations.

Three assets in a season that is far more competitive than any analyst projected.

And how crucial has Anthony Gaines' defense become?

Kopp has definitely showed offensive promise and would like to see more of Greer. Nance on the other hand has been somewhat underwhelming.

Some how everyone has forgotten that when Nance first committed there was a lot of talk about him needing to redshirt, then he grew even bigger and we are surprised that he looks awkward and lost out there. I suspect he will continue to improve all season if he can avoid injury.
