Bob didn't have trouble being a good person, he just had a drinking problem. Bit him in the *** once too often.
You can be a great person with a temper, but the moment you slap around your spouse or kid it's hard to keep that mantle of "good person" no matter how much good you have done. We all knew Bob was a heavy drinker at the very least. But planning in advance, as evidenced by the cooler, to drink heavily while driving long distances on 65mph+ roads no longer makes it a personal/family issue. That is a public danger and menace.

people do not decide their futures, they decide their habits, and their habits decide their futures. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence or failure is therefore not an act but a habit. Huggins drinking habit unfortunately lead to a failure, but not the failure opportunistic critics want him to be. This habit also will not take him out of his character. His character is far more than his habit his reputation has at abusing alcohol. I love the man, alcoholic included.

Makes me wonder if he had any good friends. Hard to have real friends when you are famous. Sounds like a lonely man to take off in his car with a cooler of booze to drive around in some strange city. Hope he gets his sh#t together, but I'm ready to move on.
