Booked for several offenses including Assault & Battery. Sometimes the felonies are dropped in a plea deal. If it's not dropped, he's gone. Even if it is, he'll see some suspension time.

We be in a bit of trouble at CB.

Damn these knuckleheads.
Just toe the line for a piddley three years of your life.
Is that asking too much?
I suppose it is...sheot the bed.

I would have to think this is the last straw for him. Too bad, he might be the best corner in the country.

I guess a free education, a luxury laden dorm, horny coeds, celebrity status and preferential treatment (academically and socially) are not enough to keep some players in line.
There are too many players entering college sports with an out-of-control feeling of entitlement that's been part of their lives all along.

How in the world, can you not act right when your education is paid for.
And you have the privilege of not only playing but you're the starter on
defense at O.U. I ain't talking D-2 or D-3 college. It's O.U. I do not
understand why these young men, not only at O.U. but other big time
schools continually screw up their lives, and just Pi$$ away their future.
If someone can figure this out please let me know.

I dunno if I buy into all players that do things like this falling into the "entitled athlete" category. I think most are simply young kids doing dumb things, and not really grasping everything they are risking in terms of their college opportunity when they decide to do stupid things.

It's called being a young kid and doing stupid things. I'm sure most on here can look back to their younger days and cringe at some of the absolutely stupid crap we did when we were JT's age. I know I do. I am just damn glad I never got caught or I would have been arrested as well.

Its over for Jordan. Great athlete but apparently not all that bright. Losing both corners for next year....man that sucks.

The dumb thing Jordan did was not stick with his commitment to Northwestern. There, he would have been focused on football and getting his degree (only 1 arrest in 6 years). Now he's falling apart at a party school and his future is going down the drain.

So, with JT gone (which is a foregone conclusion) what does our secondary look like now? Will Mike have to shuffle some people around?

I cannot equate "doing stupid things" as a young kid with committing assault and battery....at any age. It's one thing to have smoked a joint or getting a speeding ticket or shoplifting a Twinkie....it's quite another thing to physically assault someone, especially if you are a D-1 football player.
Think it may be time to start "recruiting" the parents/guardians of prospective recruits...and looking for possible character issues....aside from the size, speed and overall ability on a playing field.
Bad apples do not comprise the majority of a roster, not by a long shot. But one or two can really give the team and the school a black eye....in addition to losing an important player. OU has certainly had its share over the years.

I would equate "doing stupid things" by JTs decision to drink and get intoxicated, and thus led to him committing assault and battery. Most of the incredibly stupid things I did when I was younger was when I was drunk. And even at that age, the next day when I sobered up realized how incredibly stupid I was. Most people are VERY different when they are drunk, compared to when they are sober. JT likely sobered up today and is realizes what he did was incredibly stupid. Sadly, most don't have that kind of judgement of actions when they are not sober.

Getting drunk is something one does to himself. Assault and battery is something ones does to another person. If intoxication triggers violent behavior, then it's beyond just doing a stupid thing.
Big difference.
In Thomas's case, I won't be surprised if he gets a suspension.

I've just lost all patience with these kids. If he is indeed charged with assault and battery then he likely needs to be taught a real lesson. I would rather have a kid that can be counted on rather than a kid who has proved he can't be counted on. I'm positive Coach Stoops will do the right thing and based on what actually happened in this deal.

Nope, this is the third time he's done a perp walk.
I think he gets the boot.

Thomas, if he's removed from the team, would leave Mbanasor, Austin, Stephens, Johnson and Stanvon Taylor (if he's moved back from WR).
Seems to me that the coaches will scramble to have some position changes. Maybe a safety moves to CB.

Didn't know he's had issues before....but I still will not be surprised if he somehow rejoins the team, either after a suspension of several games or after being docked for the season as Mixon was.
Stoops may have run out of giving second....and sometimes third....chances.

He was booked for publuc intox, interference, and a citizen complaint of assault and battery for fighting in a bar. Probably not going to meet the felony threshold and doubtful the A&B holds up.

That said, he sure seems to have a knack for finding trouble.

Getting drunk usually ends up hurting other people as well. I don't see the "alcohol defense" as a justification for any crime.

DISCLAIMER: THIS IS HEAR-SAY. My son, in Tulsa, called me about 10:30, and asked what I knew about the JT Incident, which was Zero. He said a friend had just texted him that JT had beaten up his girlfriend...If so, did Mixon's case mean NOTHING, in this situation, or WHAT?

That's the best news of the thread if the charges are reduced &/or dropped. Especially if the other party instigated or was just losing a fight situation, I would assume... o_O Maybe a 2-3 game suspension would be enough ?

I highly doubt it since this isn't the first time he has been in trouble. I can't imagine a scenario where Bob would allow him to remain on the team.

From what I hear from some friends in the know, he got into a fight with an employee of the bar. I've heard nothing about a female being involved.

It may not be in Stoops control any longer with the past offenses. The University itself has a rule of conduct that will likely play out. I think he's gone unless the prosecuting atty drops the felony charge of A&B. He may be gone anyway.

If filed, it won't be a felony A&B charge. It was a citizen A&B complaint by the security guy that most likely will go nowhere. But regardless of that, he's got some strikes and Stoops and Co won't look lightly at the interference charge.

It's a damn shame that a fine kid like Jordan Thomas has been corrupted at a second rate party school like Oklahoma. He could have realized all of his dreams if he had stayed committed to Northwestern, the 12th best university in the nation and where players hardly ever get in trouble (one arrest in 6 years). Instead, he goes to a second rate party school (#108 in US News), gets in tons of trouble, and now his future is in jeopardy. I'm sure he regrets his decision now.

"Fine kid" ? Like all "kids" that come into a major college sports program, Thomas likely was tainted before he arrived at OU.
Don't you Wildcats have another visiting team to poison ?

Northwestern has a football team? Huh, learn something new everyday.
