The timing of this says Kentucky. I have no idea except for that. I do know Texas AM was the early favorite.

Wait. Why is he going to Texas A&M since they’re a football school and are spending all their money on football? We’ve been told repeatedly that we are a basketball school and are spending all of our money there so the football team is hopeless. What gives?
Have you been to A&M that campus and facilities make UK’s look like a JUCO, it’s absolutely crazy the resources and infrastructure they have.

It matters when it comes down to these kids today and who can pay and offer them the most.
For basketball alone, Kentucky is more attractive than Texas AM
But finally to kids today, money, playing time matter more than brand, unless you are Duke... Do not think campus matters that much compared with money or playing opportunity

It’s silly worrying about some high schooler and where he wants to play. There’s basically 12 spots on a CBB roster, and thousands of good high school players, not to mention the stupid instant transfer rules now, that means you can add potentially a thousand plus more potential candidates to fill out your 12 man roster. Plenty of players to go around for every team.
If Kentucky really wants this guy we can outbid everyone in the country
We already strong a Center next year, M M and even that Potter kid isn't bad.
Not seeing the connection. A&M will rarely ever outbid UK for a basketball player that UK has its sights on. There are plenty of programs doing well that are similar in scope to UK and they’re doing well in both sports.
Our problem is we have a corrupt administration and AD who care only about being landlords and sucking in revenue. They’re not interested in competing at the highest level. It’s been going on for years and nobody seems to notice. Meanwhile we play in a league that’s our for blood and we send Mitch Barnhart who’s shining accomplishment is buttoning his top button one handed and hiring guys he is forced to fire 2 years later. He’s really fast at both.
It cannot be said enough until UK gets serious about winning and not raping students and selling their souls for money nothing will change.
Get Kentucky men who care about history in there or these outside influences will use UK for profits it’s not going to stop until it happens.

Just because we are in a final 3,5, etc doesn’t mean they were a priority. I’m not saying he hasn’t missed but most of the top players are still in play and it’s early. I continue to think we will be fine in recruiting
Understandable. We’ll likely have Dioubate, Jelavic, Moreno, Potter, and maybe Garrison. I think he’s a really good long-term prospect, but doubt he would play much as a freshman.
