Coach Pope will get in the guys he needs to win. This is a different era. 5-star recruits don't hold the weight they once did in team re-building.
Yea, he is listed 4 star, but he went where he would get playing time. .
Called this on Monday, A&M just outspent us, they have vastly more financial resources to tap into.
I suspect he looked at our possible 2026-27 big man rotation (Moreno, Jelavic, Potter, Dioubate, and even Garrison) and decided playing time might be at a premium.
In before someone says we didn’t really want him and UK isn’t for everyone.
Bucky McMillan and Texas A&M, hmm, I guess he liked someone telling him he had a high basketball IQ. He does know that he signed with a football school? those California kids rarely work out at Kentucky with the exception of a few. Oh well on to the next one who wants to play for a winner.
I honestly don't worry about high school recruits as much since the era of nil and the transfer portal have emerged.Its still good to pick up a couple here or there but it's not of importance like it once was.
If Pope wanted him, it was a miss. It's okay to have misses. That's why you have a net spread out there. It's still a miss so lets not say it's something else.
I’m not sure UK ever misses on any 4 Star center who picks Texas A&M. Some on here are really dumb.

If they do or don’t have more money is irrelevant. Uk spent way more than them this last year and I don’t see that changing during Pope’s honeymoon. If UK was outbid I would say that would imply the staff didn’t want to spend more to get a 4 star.
My son and I spent a week on the A&M campus, he was an ROTC prospect, I was blown away, the campus and facilities are absolutely world class, I truly believe that was the case here, they made him a priority more so than we did, financially. I don't think it's a huge deal, though this is definitely a school with tremendous resources and it looks to be the case.

If we really really wanted him we would have spent what it took. If they wanna spend huge for a four star let them. I say it’s because of our potential depth there and we won’t overspend for a player unless they are legit 100% contributors in year one.
Oh totally agree, don’t believe this was a huge loss by any stretch, they just ultimately wanted him more so.
My primary point was at least 25 schools, really a lot more than that IMO, have the money and resources to go after players they prioritize.
I think he will be a good player. Buzz plays a lot of guys so minutes are in sight for him there.
Im sure that we can get someone from the portal that will help us more.

Yea it’s got nothing to do with being outbid. We do lose players and always will. Some guys don’t care about the program they care about playing time and promises. This is one of those guys. Jersey doesn’t matter, playing time and promises do.
