IMO he was able to play for some time before he did, and ONLY did because the noise was getting too loud and the excuses running out. He's been exposed as not being very good, and whether it not it's the reason he's out you can bet his agent has been in his ear about possibly sitting. Probably said something like "the team isn't winning anything anyway".
I suggest you get behind JQ

I think he came back when the training staff thought it was ok. I do think he’s good but very raw offensively. I also think he’s probably about 75% healthy and not in great game shape. The last part you write about the agent in his ear probably has merit. With NIL, college sports are full fledged professional leagues now.

Whether JQ is hurt or not, he doesn't have the hops he had before his injury. And when your not a scorer, and are here for blocked shots and rebounds, it don't look good for us. No wonder Pope is a mess.
Yes he does.
You should see him in pregame warmups.
He has plenty of hops, but NO I don’t see him getting up there in games.

It’s too early to draw all the conclusions. It could easily be the flu. Gotta chill for a bit
I find it comical that some on here will defend Pope to no end but are:
-very quick to say they want a player gone based on speculation that he quit
-blame NIL as holding recruiting back but then want a guy gone for actually performing his NIL contract duties because of bad timing

In the last game thread I made mention of the way he was moving around. Dude is trying to not get hurt, and like you said, he probably still is.

Since my "if" wasn't big enough for you the last time, here's one.

"bad timing" is the excuse Cal huggers used to defend his little primadonna's. What exactly are JQ's "contract duties"?

This is a sad development . Pope didnt mention it in his press conference. I am assuming something happened at the practice after the press conference .

Hopefully nothing bad and just a minor injury. Get better soon and come back stronger JQ!

Given how quick he came back hopefully just needs to rest it.

Yeah and We have fans calling players primadonnas.
Yeah. I thought it may be Mock Drafticitus too. Feels like everything is going to Hades and you got Pilgrim on KSR teasing an “opt-out”, then the tweet didn’t have a reason he was listed as “OUT”. I think it’s easy to see why the connection would be made. Hope JQ comes back but who knows?

Same dude who by taking a quote way out of context implied Pope was contemplating suicide. Pilgrim is unethical.

I think JQ needs to develop other skills as basketball player than just rely heavily on his athletics abilities in order to have a long basketball career. I hope he comes back soon Healthier and stronger .

So he's hurt right after his dad and "camp" have been unhappy with Pope? Lol, ok. And Pilgrim did say a mid-season opt out wasn't off the table.
If he opts out, Pope better have a lot of naysayers blowing kisses if tells the media that's what happened.

Pope needs to have 1 on 1s with every player, look them in the eye and find who is fully bought in or not. Play Reece Potter and Braydon Hawthorne if you can’t find enough bodies that still want it. I’m sick of the shenanigans.
I just had this exact thought. Tell them "if you're not ready to play for the name on the FRONT of the jersey and show the nation just how good we can be, then you're free to go". And anyone who opts out, put it out there for quitting.

That's kinda what I was thinking too.
[/QUOTE]

Much easier to think that way, with everything like it is, hard to think anything at this point is positive for this team.

Why? So he can “grieve” for the players that aren’t playing? So he can spew more word salad on them? Dude is clueless.
