Mr. Fake It Until You Make It is out again? Oh no, the big tall dude that sucks at BB is out again, what will UK do without his 2 pts 5 rbs and 1.5 blks?

Dude’s entire college highlight reel consists of 2 put back dunks, 3 blocks, and a desperation brick off the glass that happened to go in, that’s looped 3-4x to extend it out to a minute of footage 🤣
Let's just keep recruiting players like that he will help win Championships at the University of Kentucky..... I'm just so over those type of players...

If (and this is a big if) he’s coming back, look for him to play February 14th at Florida. Florida has talented bigs and we could use the depth .

While that's no doubt correct and we could definitely use him in that game (and others) I don't really think it's based on matchups here.

He's either
1) Not coming back
2) Injured and coming back whenever he heals.

And we won't know until he it happens. I do believe he's hurt. he walks now with a very noticeable limp.

But it's quite a coincidence that he got reinjured right after his Dad's comments.

I get it his dad is overly concerned. Like every parent. But every parent also has to see that players are not getting better here. The Perry family will say that to anyone that asks.

The Popettes will say that's sour grapes. OK, then where is their poster boy to dispute that?

I wish Pope would just have the guts to say that JQ's overbearing dad is shutting it down for the season. This charade is an insult to the collective intelligence of BBN.

Plus, every game that Pope does this, it makes him look like a cuck just like it did for Calipari when Sharpe sat out.
Yep to both lines

Latest NBA draft projected 13th. If he isn’t close to 100% (and he certainly wasn’t the last we saw him play) — it’s in his best interest and Pope’s to shut it down.
Not sure how it’s in Pope’s best interest to shut it down. He is paid millions to win at Kentucky. That’s his job. I don’t care how super special a person is, his job is to win.

JQ doesn’t have his signature explosiveness. The version we have seen doesn’t help us. Pope doesn’t need to overexpose him and hurt the kids stock — would be wielded heavily against him going forward

No it wouldn’t. If he is cleared to play you use him and do his job of winning. Hell you could argue giving him minutes after missing most of the season was what a stand up coach would do. There isn’t a top tier coach out there that wouldn’t put a first round lottery pick back in when he’s cleared to do so.

The reason I feel it is shady is because he or his dad neither one makes an attempt to come out and clear the air. Tell everyone, we’re doing our best to get back as soon as possible. We want to assure people that we are not laying down.

Kam Williams’ dad is cool and everyone knows where he stands because he wants to connect. Mr. Quaintance could do the same thing. I know they don’t owe an explanation to anyone, but it would do wonders for all involved. I don’t see what it would hurt his stock one way or the other. Just stop all the gossip. To me, all that $$$$ going into someone’s account deserves at least some small connection to your fans.

Yep. And that's where I always agreed with Cal with that stuff. It irritated people because they thought the whole players first thing was a bit much but at the end of the right if you don't do right by the kids, you won't get enough talent to win. If Pope plays JQ and he's still hurt, that's only going to come back negativily not just on Pope but UK as a whole.

I think it’s a coaches job to play the players who are listed as available to play. It is not the coaches job to hide around and not play someone if they’re cleared to play. I’m not sure what the deal is or that Pope’s doing this so I can’t judge. If he is truly hurt, hopefully the kid gets better, but I’m not sure which NBA team is going to take a gamble at this point. Seems to me the best thing for JQ’s future is to completely get healed and come and kill it next year. He would still only be 19 years old. Enjoy college and have fun. One year is not very long. Waiting a year and being strong and healthy could be the difference in going 24th or top 5. If it’s about money then that’s a major money difference.

He may not be that same player anymore. He can’t even stay in the floor. He may be worse shooting the ball now than he was a year ago.
We got to see about eight minutes of that dude. 40 minutes of mid BS looking like a freshman. And 20 games of jack ****. Not sure what that dude is trying to prove. I could give a **** what he did at another school a year ago.

The NBA knows what a healthy JQ is. They couldn’t care less what he does in college. As long as he doesn’t get injured again.

They drafted NN top 5 on one leg. I don’t know how the 2 injuries compare. But the gamble didn’t pay off with NN. He was never the same.

They drafted Embid on one foot. That’s worked out pretty well when he plays. But he misses a lot. He didn’t play much at Kansas either.

The NBA loves the one and done because it weeds out the obvious busts

After that they want them as far away from the college game and college coaches as they can get.

They would much rather they learn in the G league.

I would think he's hurting his stock by not playing after only showing a couple of minutes of decent play.
I mean, if us fans see he isn't all that good, they surely ain't pulling the wool over the eyes of NBA talent evaluators.
This is an extremely deep draft class, 13th seems a bit too optimistic to me.

He still could fall more — he will likely end up a 1st round pick no matter what. Too much value to not swing for him if you’re an NBA franchise trying to get high value for your pick late-lottery or late 1st.
