Pretty much the exact same order of finish, switching a couple of the bottom teams around. Maybe Lunenburg is able to bounce back, because of history.

I think Buckingham will top Nottoway and Amelia this year. With Coach Wilkerson back I think that instantly makes them better than the last two years. We have some good players back that were ineligible or just didn't want to play for the last coach. I think Gary Toney at QB will cause problems for teams this year. Freak athlete. At the same time Goochland, Amelia and Buckingham are fielding new coaches so it'll be interesting.

Beat me to the post BC. I was going to write the same thing. I would have Buckingham ahead of Nottoway and Amelia. Wilkerson will have them turned around in short time. The challenge Wilkerson will have as BC's new coach is getting them used to winning. The last couple of years, they are not used to that. They have to get comfortable with winning. The culture has to change. That will change and I think Buckingham is a team that improves at a much greater rate in the regular season compared to most other 2A schools directly attributable to the new Head Coach, and the talent level that Buckingham has coupled with a coach that knows what to do with it. They will be a dangerous team come playoff time. I don't know about Buckingham's offensive coordinator or who it will be. Wilkerson will have that defense clicking and flying to the ball as usual, but it's important of him to have the right OC.

Mike Edwards will run the offense. He was the JV coach 3 years ago and fielded very good teams with big offense. He's coached under Gill and Wilkerson in the past and he coached this group of kids since little league so he knows them well. The speed we have this year will take the top off defenses. We got back so very fast talented players that sat the last two years. Also we have some freshman that's gonna step in right away. This is a very young team that has only a handful of seniors but those young players played alot last year. You definitely will not see a Buckingham team like the last two years. I promise you that.

Looking at Buckingham's schedule, it's good and bad, if MaxPreps is correct. The bad part, Appo, Central of Lunenberg, Nottoway, and Goochland are all on the road. The good part is....this team will be extremely battle tested in two ways. The first is.....they are going to be more than formidable come playoff time. The good for Buckingham and bad for everyone else is....in 2019, they will have the ability to make a state title run with the youth they have this year, the new HC having one year to change the culture, and a schedule that will set them up to have a high chance to be the 1 seed in the region for 2019. Buckingham this year may be much like Appo in 2014 in that everything is in place with the coach and talent coming up, and them being one year away to have a huge chance to win the whole thing.

I think 2020 will be the most stacked team we will have in a long time. 2019 will be a stacked team but remember the name Colby White. A 7th grader that will be a phenom as a freshman. He's already 6-1 and very very athletic. Along with another 8th grader Jordan Woodson that will probably be one of the best backs we ever had. Gary Toney will be a 3 year starter at QB and these young athletes will be freshman and sophmores. The 8th graders this year will not be playing jv next year. We have a very talented youth group coming up. Big and athletic. Our middle school basketball team started 4 6 footers that are better football players than basketball. Its a mystery as to what this year's team will be but the future is very brigbt in the next 2-3 seasons.
