Per another site he is working to enroll early at UK for spring. Has an offer from Clemson.

Must have grade problems or he would have more offers and a better ranking. Not many humans are that big and strong and can move like that.

Every listing I've seen of him lists him at 6'2' or 6'3'. Regardless, he's a big guy. Somewhat surprised at his offers.

Seeing how good Clemson's defense is now and the fact they offered him is pretty exciting to know.

This is from Dec. 2014
Former Carvers Bay Shrine Bowl DL Naquez Pringle just completed his freshman season at Itawamba JC, MS. In nine games he had 19 tackles and 2 tackles for loss. Cincinnati, Kentucky and Missouri are showing interest and he plans to send film to USC and Clemson in the next two weeks. Pringle said his head coach has talked to several schools that plan to offer him during spring practice.

Unlike Elam, it looks to me that Kobe & Pringle both have enough "quicks" to play either NT or DT.

Big quick DL will cure a lot of defensive aliments.

pringle is a dt and not a nt from what i've read. not saying we couldn't play him there some but i think the plan is to have him on the outside and kobe would still be backing up elam.

If Elam loses 40 pounds, do you think he can achieve quicks that allow him to pursue?

If he does play DT it would probably allow UK to RS either or both Looney and Cross and that would be a good thing.

- we have to redshirt those incoming dlinemen, its a must
-Elam is never going to be a pursuer, or a dominant pass rusher. The guy is a NT, which clogs the middle, preventing the opponent from having large holes for the run game.
- a couple of Pringles videos show him chasing the QB out of bounds, the guy has good speed for a 330 pound guy.

We can criticize this staff for lack of player development all we want, but one area they have done a really good job with is developing JUCOs, e.g., Melvin Lewis, CJ Johnson, Z Smith, Stamps (who was great as a junior at least). Bonner and this kid Pringle, and Leavitt hope we can continue the good work.

Elam needs to be able to slide down the line and pursue like Lewis. I think he got a tad better toward the end of the season and would expect him to be more so if he loses 35 more pounds.

I know that this is "OT" for this thread but Stamps came back and had a reasonably good last part of the season. I sure would love to know what happened in the middle of the season to make his play fall off so much. I was really looking for him to have a dominating season this year and it just didn't happen.

I wonder if that has anything to do with them being older and more receptive to the coaching?

So far the talented players we've watched our staff try to develop are all younger guys...hopefully they become more receptive to the coaching as they mature.

Come on man, man up.

You would be running to the sideline, just like I would.

No shame there, just good common sense.
I wouldn't line up across from this guy with body armor, a billy club, and a can of mace

Brumbaugh has unfairly taken some heat from some but consider this...he's been here 3 years and will soon have 4 DL in the NFL. Pretty good return I think. That's probably why guys like Pringle and Bonner join UK.

1. I;'d like to get Pringle to UK in this class if we can. That is a big size kid with a decent offer sheet.
2. I really don't want to see UK try to line up Meant/Elam/Miggins as our starting DL next year. The drop off from Cory Johnson to Reggie Meant is pretty significant and not what I'd want to see.

Meant was ok toward the end of the year but he will be a drop off from Johnson. Miggins hopefully was just getting adjusted from Juco and he'll have a bigger impact in year 2. Elam is a bust, I agree. Kobe Smith may start as a true frosh if he doesn't improve a lot.

I don't think Elam is a bust...if he doesn't make big improvement this year than he would be a disappointment IMO.. Not a bust..
I actually like meant as a NT more than at DT..not sure if he can hold the point against power running teams like GA,LSU AL. Ect. But against spread teams I think he would fit better at NT..
Bell is another guy to watch, but miggons could surprise me. He was out with injuries which could have hurt his development.. CJ made a big jump from last year to this year..miggons could do the same, but his ceiling might not be as high as cj was..

I really hope this guy comes here because when you look at the DL we are trotting out there it is concerning. It is potentially the worst unit in the conference taking into account every position. I think we are good at DB and LB but it won't matter if the DL stays the same.

Miggins and Elam were highly rated big time recruits so at least there's hope that they may prove to be adequate players.

Meant and elam are good players. We need sombody inside to give us a pass rush.

Actually, Miggins was rated a 5.2 2 star by Rivals coming out of HS. He was rated a 5.3 2 star by Rivals coming out of JUCO. He did almost sign with Miss St though.
