I love his attitude. Good thing is that JUCO's usually waste 10 weeks getting acclimated then show promise and then really help as seniors. By him getting here in spring he knows how far behind her is and can work all summer to catch up.
Hopefully by week 3 or 4 he's hitting his stride and then we are solid down the stretch.
I agree but you need to accept that UK is not going to be able to recruit top notch dline out of HS because they are rare. We are going to have to take 1 every year going forward. The good news is most of these guys are rs'ing in juco now and have 3 years in college. We need him to contribute significantly and stay healthy all year. Really we just need to do a helluva lot better at Dline recruiting so we aren't dependent on low rated JuCo players to make an immediate impact.
Low rated but with offers from Clemson and South Carolina. Those teams know dline talent. UK has taken Lewis and Johnson who both probably get drafted. We have Meant and Elam as the starting dlineman one had offers from whose who and the other had some very nice offers as well. Dline recruiting has been fine just need those guys to develope. Heck Elam and Meant not even seniors. We need him to contribute significantly and stay healthy all year. Like Corey Peters, Jason Hatcher, Matt Elam, James Hudson, Alex King?I agree but you need to accept that UK is not going to be able to recruit top notch dline out of HS because they are rare.
Have you been drinking? Or Dline recruiting (unlike almost every other area) has not been great. Pringle had those offers at high school and was absent in JuCo. Just saying. Be nice to have some other DT recruits that have a handful of offers and not being reliant upon lightly recruited JuCo players to come in and immediately contribute significant minutes and production (year 4)Low rated but with offers from Clemson and South Carolina. compared to the teams on our schedule.... yes. we can get a couple good ones every year but its hard for us to land 3 or 4 top notch guys on the dline. we've put maybe 5 guys the last decade in the pros on the dline. most of the teams we play have probably put 15 at a minimum. juco lets us get a higher level athlete at that position.... but you sacrifice development time and hope that they are quick learners.Like Corey Peters, Jason Hatcher, Matt Elam, James Hudson, Alex King?

Wasn't Pringle actually a 4-star coming out of H.S?
Why do you go check the dline offer sheet before accusing anybody of drinking. Your sober just blind my friend. Check KG Meant Elam Middleton Dubose Looney offer sheets. Those guys have offers from Alabama, Ohio st, Florida, Notre Dame, Missouri, Louisville, Miss st, Kansas st, on and on. These guys may be green but a little early to call any of these kids busts.Have you been drinking? Or Dline recruiting (unlike almost every other area) has not been great. Speed and quickness and great technique are more important than just size. Elam is a prime example.
