Kitten photo right after adoption got her on the siameserescue.org calendar. I occasionally called her Miss February up until yesterday morning.
These guys know all about being on the streets and maybe winding up in a shelter...

Friday (8/8) is the birthday of David Evans. He's more commonly known by his stage name, The Edge. He was a founding member, the lead guitarist, keyboardist, and backing vocalist of U2. To celebrate:
Saturday (8/9) was the birthday of the late, great, Billy Henderson. He was a founding member, while in high school, of The Domingos. He remained with the group when they were renamed The Spinners. He was known for his dancing, and animated presence during concerts, but was also the only member of the founding five that never sang lead vocals. To celebrate (he's 2nd from the left):
Saturday (8/9) was the birthday of the late, great, Wanda Young. She was not an original member of the Casinyets, or the group when they changed their name to the Marvels. However, she joined the band just about the time they signed a record deal with Motown, at which time their name was changed to the Marvelettes. She became the lead singer of the group after 1965.
