Sunday (5/26) was the birthday of Stephanie Nicks, known to most as Stevie Nicks. To celebrate:

The tape of Stevie Nicks singing Rhiannon on The Midnight Special in 1976 is exceptional --- one can almost feel the influence of the lyrics and the witch slowly possessing her as the song continues on. There are a few performances that (pun intended) are simply "other worldly". such as Bobby Hatfield (Righteous Brothers) singing Unchained Melody on the Andy Williams show in 1965 --- but this performance by Nicks is tremendous.

Tomorrow (5/28) is the birthday of John Fogerty. He was one of the founding members, and the lead singer, lead guitarist, and principal songwriter, for Creedence Clearwater Revival. To celebrate:

I'll be seeing John Fogerty perform next Tuesday, June 4th, at the Credit One Stadium on Daniel Island in Charleston, SC. Opening act is George Thorogood and the Destroyers. Place should be rocking.

At the risk of being redundant ... the live version is even better ...

Today (5/28) is the birthday of Kylie Minogue. To celebrate, the song she's most famous for:

I’m not even gay, but I’m proud to announce that Kylie, Cyndi Lauper and the Pointer Sisters are in the closet of musical artists I enjoy.

U of I Band - townies from Champaign I think. Sold a lot of records, and for good reason.

One of my all time favorite songs.
As I continue my musical journey, my New Years resolution is to get as good on piano as I was when I graduated high school...good enough to gig with a guitar and a piano.
This will be the first piano song I play.
That intro...mmmmm.

I'm jealous. I've never seen Fogerty in concert. GT & the Destroyers can rock, so as you indicated, it should be a good concert.

I saw him with ZZ-Top only a few years ago. Took my Dad. Yes sir. John was really, really great. Like wow 60's Rock God right in your face WOW.

GT is weird now, when I saw him he was more like a draggy dracula than the guy from the 80's videos. Still fun though.

You and I are much too old to be going to, and enjoying, rock concerts. Let's toast to the old farts who still love the music of the 60's and 70's. I kid my wife that I'll probably be watching music videos of some of my favorites on my deathbed.

Just put Stop Making Sense on repeat and I’m good.
