Friday (8/15) is the birthday of Jimmy Webb. He made his mark as a songwriter, penning hits for others. To celebrate, him singing one of the hits he wrote:
Friday (8/15) is the birthday of Charles Thomas Johnston. He was more commonly known as Tom Johnston. He was a founding member, guitarist, lead vocalist, and song writer for Pud. After playing around with different lineups and music styles, they set on the name the Doobie Brothers. Johnston has been a member of them periodically, and also had a solo career. To celebrate:
Saturday (8/16) was the birthday of the late, great, Eric Weissberg. He was a singer, banjo player, and multi-instrumentalist. He achieved his greatest fame for playing the banjo part (and arranging the song) Dueling Banjos, in the film Deliverance in 1972.
