Outside of running the ball and kicking field goals this team is not very good in any aspect of the game.

Stoops has never beaten a power 5 opponent that finished the season with a winning record. In 4 years he has beat exactly 0 good teams. 2014 he beat USCjr that ended 6-6 that's as close as he's gotten. If this team had Gran and Stoops as coordinators with Marrow recruiting and Brooks was still the HC making the important decisions we'd be a much better team. Stoops isn't head coach material. He is the worst game manager and clock manager i've ever seen ascend to level of coaching he's made it to

Sure. You think he'll fire Elliot, though?

At this point I think it should be pretty clear that with or without Eliot, Stoops defense is going to be Stoops defense when we play offenses that have even the slightest bit of life..this is Stoops' defense..always has been and always will be..he'll only get rid of Eliot if he ever needs another scapegoat one of these days (which is unlikely considering how much Barnhart loves him)

100% agree. Next year is the year that find out if he gots it or doesn't. I expect 8 wins next year. Considering we actually should have 8 this year

Anyone that thinks our QB play is fine is a moron. Our receivers don't catch the balls that are actually catchable because they're only halfway concentrating. When the team never throws or when they do throw it's usually off target it caused the receivers to not be into the game. The receivers aren't engaged and aren't concentrating. Conrad is pissed and has every right to be. I'd be looking at all my options after the season. Kid has NFL talent but is being wasted and held back big time under Stoops.

In six years we will still have people saying " we're young, give them time".

It's really hard to believe how bad some of the SEC east offenses really are. We actually looked like we had a pulse until we played UT.

Next year Johnson needs to be in the wildcat only. Hopefully Barker comes back and is healthy of Hoak allows us not to need Johnson starting

Winning time of possesion, rushing for over 400 yds, even in turnovers and total yardage...Name me another team that does that and loses the game. Not only did UK lose it but they got their a$$e$ handed to them. You just can't make this crap up, it only seems to happen to KY. Unreal!!!

Our defense is by far our biggest issue. Frankly, our QB play has been better than our WR play the last few years. Lots of key drops today.

This. It cracks me up the way a significant segment of our fan base always ALWAYS defaults to "blame the quarterback" mode every time. Been that way for as long as I can remember.

And, sadly, it kinda reinforces the negative stereotype many of our fellow SEC fans have of UK fans only knowing basketball and not football. It's like they don't even see all the other things wrong, they just know you're supposed to ***** about the QB after each loss.

That said, Johnson was plainly not good today, but by far the bigger problem was our pathetic defensive play. But I'm not hearing people ***** about that nearly as much.

From week to week everyone's opinion changes, this program is headed in the right direction. It's all about building depth.

We aren't headed in the right direction. This is the worst the SEC East will ever be and we are struggling to even finish with a .500 record. If any other team in our division remembers what a football is we will be right back to 5-7 or worse, and we won't have to be a worse football team to do that.

Yep. Just think we beat Georgia and southern miss and we got 8 wins

100 bucks says we don't win 6 next season.
What makes you say that? Qb depth won't be a problem, second year under Eddie Gran, we aren't losing many players, the schedule isn't that scary, second year under the new strength and conditioning staff, 20 extra practice this off-season. I see nothing but good things ahead.

Then take the bet.

Every unit is average at best, except for the DL, which is very bad and the RBs, which are solid.

I'm not being with some random guy on the internet, I don't bet anyways. If you want to make such a bet find a betting website.

I'll keep my hundred bucks and be right. You'll find excuses about "progress" and staying the course.

This coaching staff is inept and couldn't take advantage of a historically bad SEC East.

I expected a loss to UT today...should have beaten UGA last week...another step back at the end of the season...:(

That's called depth.

I'm not all about Stoops, though. But I do think we've seen enough progress that he should get another year. As long as we continue to move forward, then I'll be happy. This guy inherited a mess and while I do think there are others who could've turned it around quicker, they're not here and Stoops is here.

I'm not ready to start all over again just yet.

Nothing is guaranteed with UK football. Saying our schedule "isn't that scary" is ridiculous.

My 2 cents on this season...

+ much improved Special Teams (last year was abysmal)

+ O line is improving ( - Right Tackle, he's not very good)

+ Running game is great.

+ Secondary is above average. One on one tackling still needs to improve.

+/- Have a top 5 TE ... but we just don't know how to use him. Kid has NFL talent going to waste.

- Still can't stop the run, especially a running QB.

- QB play is below average. so we're predictable, drives stall inside the 20's.

- Our fast , Tall WR's can't catch ... or they'ld be playing at a better school. lost count of drops that could change outcomes of drives/games the last couple years.

- Turnovers.

Baring a meltdown to A Peay or an upset of UL...we'll be at 6-6 this season and a no-name bowl with a loss to an unranked OOC opponent and coaching the UGA game away at home is just not good enough...

IMO All he's earned is an even hotter seat going into next season. 7-5 regular seasons or else moving forward.

We should be looking at an 8-4 year folks and a decent bowl...piss poor Coaching cost us 2 wins this year.

Football teams that are young and are building do this all the time. That's how they get experience and grow up. There may be several reasons to be concerned about the direction of the program, but this isn't one of them in my opinion.
