Just a simple question.....

If the kneeling is "not about the flag".......and disrespecting our country....why is it done during the playing of the anthem? Maybe a MORE meaningful "protest" would be to walk off the field and not play the game......I'd bet that it would certainly be more impactful.

Because the “kneeling participants” (or other forms of attention seeking) who are usually of the ages 21 to 30 something are no different now then 50 /100 years ago. There intentions and messages are always the same, which is, I have something important to say, protest, and or demonstrate. Then the entertainment begins in which Windbags begin to bloviate about the meaning, purpose, and importance.

Kaepernick Kneel during national anthem determined the greatest thing of all time.

Tim Tebow Kneel for prayer and reflection got raked across the coals.

Then why not say what what they think is important? If Kaepernick had done several press conferences he would have gotten more to look at the issues. Kneeling did nothing but put the spotlight on him and not his cause. Perhaps he should have done both and it would have had more impact. Giving an explanation right after the first time would have done more.

Much easier to be a part of / attend, or support a protest than to rationally explain it or the behavior involved.

Kaeperdick did many press conferences.......with his Che Guevara and Castro tee shirts on.....what do they have to do with police brutality?

Expecting someone to do something against their own self, political, or economic interests for a cause? Not really going to happen much in today's time.

The idea of sacrifice? That went out with the bathwater 30 or so years ago.

Does anyone actually watch during the National Anthem? I don't. During the National Anthem I'm flipping channels to see if another game is going on or taking a whiz or making a snack or maybe sitting in front of the TV but face down in my Ipad reading something.

No.....no need for it. The same with the flyovers and....... I have to say it......The constant honoring of the troops is getting a little out of hand......and I honor and thank them every single day.

Do they even show the national anthem on tv for a regular season game? Did they start doing it when the kneeling started.

For the individual, sure. Not for the message.

The take a knee protest was designed to irritate people just like you and Trump, mission accomplished....and that's why you're not in charge of protests.

Please tell me you aren’t going to espouse any positives of Castro or Che.
Nah, it would require people to be capable of empathy and seeing events through the eyes of other people in different conditions than their own. Not too many on here capable of that.

I’ve tried to see their point of view. Too much fear and hatred for me to be ok with. Someone wise once said: “fear is the path to the dark side”.

I’ll add another quote for you. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

We don’t have to “understand and have empathy”, we have historical record. Like all previous attempts of revolution where Marxist socialism and outright communism plays a factor, their good intentions ended up far worse for the populace than what they replaced. All the evidence you need that it’s a failure is that in order to ensure it remains is that they secure it at gunpoint and preserve it through murder, corruption, and fear...also at the end of a gun.

Yea, they were great.

I agree. Doesn’t mean there was no good in those men or some of their actions. It also doesn’t mean that the US, or it’s leaders, never had negative actions or intentions.

That’s ********

If Tim Tebow wants to play in the NFL as a quarterback, here is my recommendation to him: “Tim, stop praying after you score a touchdown. Stop putting “John 3:16” in your eye black. Stop giving thanks to Jesus whenever you win a game.” ~ Jeremy Myers

The real reason that the Eagles cut Tim Tebow is because Tim Tebow believes that his purpose on a football team is to evangelize his teammates and the coaching staff. Every time he gets a camera in his face, he starts talking about Jesus and giving glory to God for letting him play football.

But NFL Coaches don’t put people on their team to give them a platform to share their religious ideas. Nor do they put people on their team to share their political ideas. Or to sell their branded merchandise.

I guess they forgot to tell Kaepernick politics is out.

Plummer on Tim Tebow...
“I wish he’d just shut up after a game and go hug his teammates,” Plummer said, via SportsRadioInterviews.com. “I think that when he accepts the fact that we know that he loves Jesus Christ then I think I’ll like him a little better. I don’t hate him because of that, I just would rather not have to hear that every time he takes a good snap or makes a good handoff.”

Raked across the coals! He is pushing his faith and Kaepernick's of the world are pushing their politics.

Should either politics or religion be a part of sports? For many though religion is also political.

I’m sure Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Pol Pot, Edi Amin, and the rest of scourge of the earth were a blast at dinner parties. Sorry, when you murder your own populace to control them, you lose any case for good intentions.

All that is needed is to tear down all statues and remove any reference from history books and no past bad can be remembered.....that also removes any known remedy to bad decisions of the past.....UTOPIA

Is it? I like making people laugh. Tim Tebow wasn’t pro material, although I thought he could’ve been effective in a hybrid - slash type role for someone. He’s one hard core religious guy I pull for. But yeah, I think Meyers is shoveling some bs on that one.

Maybe some. Not me. I believe in liberty, free enterprise, and I think communism never works - and I think socialism can hurt more than it helps in some cases, but can be good in other situations (education, policing, infrastructure, etc..). I’m tired of the blowback we are experiencing. From W, from O, and god knows how bad it will be after Trump. Congress puts us against one another to bring in the $$$$$, and solutions are never going to come.

We can’t discuss anything without bashing one another. The other side’s solutions are foolish and their way of thinking is ridiculous. Everything is generalized and full of resentment.

I still believe solutions can be agreed upon. But I believe in unicorns.
