1. Look...Stoops is competent. He is no Brady Hoke.

2. My friend is a UK fan so I have watched your games off and on for awhile. Phillips was the poor hire. Your team looked small. Since Stoops has been hired the talent level is clearly better but additional talent and positions need to be upgraded.

3. My perception is that your qb play is meh. It's hard to win without either a dominating OL/run game or great qb play. I have seen your qb's the last two years and they aren't going to win you anything. One guy I saw last year couldn't throw a lick and your Barker guy (haven't seen every play) is off and on and doesn't seem to have the fire/moxie.

4. Your DL needs more size and the 3/4 is not a favorite scheme of mine.

Bottom line: UK is heading in the right direction. Talent level needs to upgraded. You find a qb and fill some more positions then Stoops is fine. I would advise him to scrap the 3/4 but probably doing that because of a lack of talent.

Your AD overpaid for the extension but I think many UK fans may not appreciate how much talent needed to be infused into the program after Phillips.

I also noticed something where you defense is getting worn down and demoralized because the offense isn't doing anything. Need to find a qb and give your coach another year. Don't pull the plug so early on this MAJOR rebuilding project.

Just my thoughts.

It's always the QB's fault. I think the issues are at the line of scrimmage and quite honestly that is a area where UK hasn't improved under Stoops. Unfortunately, it's the area where you have to be at least adequate.

I agree. Good qb play would go a long ways toward turning this ship around and masking a lot of other problems.

Your wasting your time around here reality man , anything other than pitch forks will be rejected . Primarily due to the lusting for Bobby Petrino , they didn't get him and are bitter . This is their way of lashing out whether it's effective or not , it releases their frustration .

explain to me lesser talent OL's can block at the lower levels but ours cant even handle a 7 on 4 ?

Its all about teaching/Coaching.

how is it we have a QB Barker who cant audible pass protection when its obvious the opponent's LB is blitzing?

I'll bite. What on earth would make you call Stoops competent, assuming you are talking about all the things that happen between the opening kick-off and the "we have to go back to work" statement in the losers' press conference?
Fair enough.

Wasn't stoops a DC and a successful one at that? Hoke was never a DC or OC until this year. Stoops has obviously hired some good recruiters.

Your point that Stoops might not be great at some things is perfectly reasonable but I have a bet that if Stoops had the Florida team that he would have won. Winning at UK is an uphill battle especially after Phillips.

Any coach is going to need time but that being said...UK should be more competitive and Stoops is going to have to get UK to play with more fire. The last 6 quarters aren't good enough for a program trying to climb the ladder.

Stoops needs to get these guys to play with a sense of urgency.

And yet he hasn't. In fact, they've quit on him every season.

So, what makes you think he's competent as a HC?

Obviously a fan of another program. Who else besides fans of another program would recommend the disaster that is now taking place. We are in year four and not even competitive in a lot of games. Coaching staff losing to mid-major programs and getting out schemed by coaches making 1/5 of their salary. I wish there was hope, but I just don't see it. Part of the reason we have no positive outcomes is lack of player development from the very coaches that you recommend we keep.

Since you have friends that are fans and since you watch games now and then we will take all the expert advice you can offer....

WTH is this crap?

You going to mosey on over to other teams messages boards or do you only have UK fans as friends?

Nope. In modern college football a good coach only needs three years to see success. UK has no excuse. Bring in a solid proven winner and they will start winning by year three.

Even if Stoops turns out to be a great coach (somewhere else), he is losing (lost) the confidence that there is a future (recruiting). And he's lost the ability to inspire his kids. Sad because I was a believer...

Stoops may be competent as a DC, but has yet to prove the same competency as a HC. Just prepare your team, inspire them to play hard, and be competitive. Many will still moan and groan about losses, but will remain loyal if they feel the team is progressing. Obviously, this team is not showing progress. In fact, it looks worse now than it did four years ago, so I get why the fan base is calling for the heads of Stoops and Barnhart.

Having to call TO on 3rd and 8 Florida ball because there are only 10 UK defenders on the field and giving the Gators time to regroup and gash for a big gain first down is not what I'd term as organized or competent, and has zero to do with talent level.

Did you happen to notice in the first game where the offense put up 35 first half points and that wasn't enough for our Swiss cheese defense? I agree they get demoralized but it's at their own inability to stop anyone.

I don't think this is true. They played to win each of the last two years. And they came up just short in a number of games.

Part of what was so startling about yesterday's game is that the team quit. It extinguished the last embers of hope that remained after the Southern Miss debacle. Yesterday was the point of no return.
