I would have preferred an OBE reunion division in the ACC, but I'm fine with the B10. I never thought I'd watch the BTN before Rutgers got in, but I actually like their CFB shows better than ESPNs.

This is a reasonable idea.

I, like a few, never ever imagined (in the 80's as a student anyway) the B1G was even a thought.

But as things evolved over time in the college landscape the B1G is where a Rutgers (a large state/land grant research university with a pretty good academic rep) should be. To think otherwise is just wrong.

I have lived to see Purdue rise from near the bottom of the conference, get to the top, spend a number of years just above the middle, and then fall back to the bottom. There will come a time when your football program is competitive at the top and when it comes you'll enjoy it so much. It's not as far away as it seems if you've got the coach to get you there.

ACC schools have won 18.
No ACC schools have won more than 5 National Championships in football.
Michigan has won 8 National Championships.
Ohio State has won 7 National Championships.
Minnesota has won 6 National Championships.

BC, Clemson, Louisville, Syracuse and Wake Forest do not provide the Research Performance that B1G schools provide.

Pittsburgh has won 5 National Championships in football that were recognized by the NCAA. They were in 1910, 1916, 1918, 1937 and 1976(see links below).

ACC football is on the upswing. Last week's poll had as many ACC teams as SEC teams in the top 25. I personally don't see any reason for the trend not to continue.

Only miss Louisville, VT & Pitt as I never enjoyed playing against or the fans of BC, Miami, or the team from Canada. Could care less about playing Clemson. FSU, GT or the scum in Chapel Hill.

We are in the best academic and athletic conference in the country. Michigan and tOSU are in a class by themselves. Will we ever be like MSU and have some success ever few years - only time will tell.

Well it wasn't really a choice, but if it had been offered instead of the Big 10, it would have been a welcome landing spot.

I strongly doubt the blue bloods of the ACC would have wanted the Jersey Guys, but it would have been interesting if the choice had been between us, UConn and Louisville. If we're playing the what-if's though, it would have been great if Paterno's Eastern Conference had come together. That would have been the A++ (with the Big 10 as an A+ and the ACC an A).

For the record, during basketball season I miss the Big East.
