Have you ever been to a breeding session? I had the opportunity when I was at UK as one of my fraternity brothers was going to be an equine veterinarian and worked part time on a local horse farm. He invited a few of us out for a session and it was crazy. We all sat there and were served drinks, the men had on coats and ties and the lady folks dressed like they were at a ball in their finest. Anyway they brought out the mare and then came out the teaser horse. Now the fun begins. The poor teaser gets the mare all exited and of course he is snorting and stomping and about the time he thinks he is going to mount her, some smart *** jerks him away and the STUD slams it into the mare and the ground shook. This was repeated over and over with a different mare. I left feeling sorry for the poor teaser. I ask why he was treated like that and was told if that mare is not ready she might kick a million dollar stud horse in the head or worse. A teaser horse can be replaced. Talk about animal cruelty, the poor boy is still looking for his first piece.Lesson learned, don't be a teaser.
Haha I need to try that. Life lessons and all.
My uncle was a horse trainer and trader / buyer whatever in Mayfield Ky. I didn’t really grow up around horse racing so I never knew much about
It. Would love to learn.
In Tennessee we have walking horses or something. Not sure if they run or not.
