I think he's smart to. There seem to be a lot of elite wings coming out of high school this year. If he doesn't go now, he'd have a lot of competition next year.

But in all seriousness, I would expect Jackson to come back to school. He should be a bigger part of the offense with the graduations of Paige and Johnson. Better production along with how highly regarded he was coming out of high school could land him in the first round... OR he could continue to lower his draft stock with another subpar season, who the hell knows.

This doesn't mean a lot right now but don't be surprised if hicks, pinson , meeks and berry check it out. hof coach roy williams won't hold back tar heels that have NBA talent and are NBA ready.ever has and never will. He could potentially send 6 players to the league this year. That in itself may be the reason hof coach roy williams is hitting the recruiting trail hard to bring in a great 2016 class. Remember all those 5 stars that haven't committed yet. ( Allen and Bolden) That "nanner puddin" is still one a heck of a recruiting tool. OFC

As a basketball fan, I liked Justin Jackson's "Game". A very old school feel to it. I feel like 75% of his shots were floaters. I think Hicks could be a force. Next to crying Brice, Berry was the 2nd best player IMO. They should all go to the NBA that way we can see the youtube sensation seventh woods.

really like his game, but he tends to disappear sometimes. Watching him at the McDs game, I thought, man, this kid is going to be trouble. Also remember some of the sites had Pinson rated higher than Winslow. Jackson is the key to Carolina's season. If he stays and steps up, they can be good to very good. If he leaves, they have no depth and not enough scoring.

He would go 1st round. He hasn't shined like an elite player but you can see the potential he has. I mean if Macadoo made the list Justin will be fine. I thought he played really well down the stretch UNCheat just didn't run enough through him.

When does the combine start and how long does it last? I would hate to see UNCHEAT players miss any valuable class time

New draft rules makes this much less of a big deal. His inconsistency should keep him from going that high, and as a bigger focal point of UNC's offense next year, I think he could improve his stock a lot by returning. He has the potential, potential, potential, though, and all it takes is for one team to fall in love with you.

If Meeks & Berry declare, I am too. No way those guys are NBA caliber players.

Yeah. I kind of thought of this also....if he stays UNC is a much better team.

Does it matter? They'll trade to get him or Johnson
I bet they trade Kemba, Batum, and their next two first round picks for Jackson, and Steve Clifford's first born for Johnson.

They were going to try to trade the 2017 All-Star game, but...

Seriously though, how is it possible that the longer every tarheel stays, the lower his draft stock plummets. It seriously baffles me. Tokoto must be the only other person that sees that (although he figured it out a year too late)

Agreed. Heck , even Johnson ain't a "can't miss" NBA prospect and he's the best of the lot. I've seen some say Jackson could go late first round. That , to me , is laughable but if he can go that high , he should bolt. Now. No way his stock goes any higher with another year under Roy. Other considerations...Jackson is already 21. Also he ( and Berry and Pinson ) came in Top 20 in his class. Only 6 guys remain in school from that class. Roy has 3 of 'em and THAT , my friends , is what's killin' unx recruiting much more than any scandal or "junk" as Roy calls it. MORE highly-rated recruits are staying at unx AND they're staying in school LONGER too. Jackson and Pinson were both Top 10. They return for another season of Roy's career-killing and they'll be 2 of only 3 Top 10's left in school. Unreal , in this day and age. Roy keeps 3 Top 20 kids for ( as of now! ) 3 years apiece. Two of which are , as I said , Top 10. No one does that....except Roy. But's it's all this "junk" , right Roy? I hope he stays at unx forever...should give 'im a lifetime contract.

I think a few of those UNC fans will go this route but all return. Jackson is the only one I see as draftable right now.

I just spit my drink out Dirt. That's just funny right there!

Indeed. Good stuff. lol. What's even funnier is knowin' unx fans will have to deal with being on the business end of just those types of comments forever. Nor for another week or two. Not for even months or years. Forever. lol

Roy doesn't run a lot of plays for his SFs (or SGs, for that matter). Last time he did anything remotely like that was to feed Danny Green in the corner on the break. Which is to say that what you see from Justin is mainly what he can produce on his own.

He moves very well without the ball, has a decent handle, and is a much better defender than he usually gets credit for. If his 3-pt shot hadn't given him trouble this year, he would be getting a lot more attention.

I imagine the pro teams would prefer him to add muscle and prove his outside shot, but they can surely see that he's good enough to spend a draft pick on him. The question is whether some team will promise to take him in the guaranteed money. We'll see.

When is unc going to announce this. I expect Meeks, hicks, and Berry to all test and thus waiting for one announcement?

If Jackson doesn't go this year, then he'll have to compete against Tatum, Jackson, Bridges, Fox, etc. Seems like now makes sense.

I really think jackson has a shot at the 1st. round just on potential. It will probably be late first round an will be with a really good team which can afford to be patient with him. I just don't want to deal with him next year. . I think both berry and hicks need another year although I do hope both ends up declaring. Maybe both can sign with the Hornheels D league team in Greensboro. If so the place will sell out especially if paige ends up there. I know the term Hornheels makes it sound like mj would love to have as many former tar heels as he can. Yeah he did get rid of pj but that should really tell you something about him and his character when the head of the family let's him go. As far as meeks goes I could care less whether he comes back or not. Don't think he will be any better as a senior as he was a freshman. OFC

I've seen some projections that have him going near the end of the first round. If accurate , he needs to go. Now.
