Still think Jones eventually ends up at UCF or USF, maybe not out of HS but in due time.
I don't know if he will flip again or not, but if he does I wouldn't be surprised if it were to a Florida school and not UCF or USF. If he does sign with Bama and then decides to go elsewhere I think he likely heads JUCO and then signs wherever he wants, that's a pretty popular method used to get around the sitting out a year deal. But if he flips again I think UK has as good a shot as anyone.
^ This. Not only is he being completely overshadowed by Tua, Bama continues to recruit 2017 QBs.Most Bama fans complained when he committed. He is a luxury pickup for Bama nothing more. UK prioritized him and he is a better fit for UK offense imo. Bama made a first rd talent in McCarron a fifth rd pick. I wish Mac well and I would welcome him back but I hope he learns a lesson.
I don't know. A lot of idiot UK fans (and folks posing as UK fans) got into a pissing contest with Mac on Twitter after his flip. He didn't respond well and showed a gross lack of maturity to me compared to the facade he put on during his commitment to us.
I just don't see Jones flipping back to us. If he does, though, I think he'd figure out the maturity thing hopefully like another QB has supposedly done.
As far as I know, none of the so called Big 3 Florida schools have offered...something I see as odd. Yeah, JUCO's a possibility too if he feels he can stoop to that level.
It's not looked at like it was a few years ago, kids can spend 1 season there and go anywhere they want to go and have to sit a year. If they RS as a frosh will still have 3 years to play its a pretty good deal for the kids who aren't happy where they orginally sign, especially if they want to stay in the same conference like Alvin Kamara did who is at UT now. A few big IFs here, if Jones signs with Bama, is not happy and wants to leave, Saban can block a transfer to conference schools, but Jones could go JUCO, graduate which is key, and transfer to UK, if that is his choice with 3 years to play. If they play their frosh year and then go JUCO, he can RS and still have 3 years to play, of course under that senario he likely has to pay his own way.
I am not talking about specifically Jones but all kids can take this route. Cam Newton did, so did Nick Marshal.[/
And Mettenberger.

Luxury pickup is the perfect phrase. Most Bama fans complained when he committed. He is a luxury pickup for Bama nothing more. UK prioritized him and he is a better fit for UK offense imo. Personally I would welcome Mac Jones back but my thought is that if he flips again then it won't be to us. People talk about him acting immature but to me DH was more immature.
Yep. That's exactly why I said before how ignorant it is for supposed fans to do stuff like that. Also a mistake for Hinshaw to tweet out what he did. I was surprised by Mac's move but also thought this aint over because and we need to stick with him because I know he was sincere in his love for UK and I know it was a better fit for him and was hoping that would keep him from giving in to the pressure from friends, co-recruits, and others to jump on the big shiny offer.
I know he didn't handle it the best from the way he sort of dropped this out of the blue on UK. But I give him a break on his reaction to fans etc because he is just reacting to some pretty hateful stuff.
But unlike some other think, I don't think he's an attention freak or has maturity problems at all, not did he put on a façade. He was genuine in his like for UK and was genuine in his reaction to the crap he took when he changed his mind (Under some pressure from others IMO).
That doesn't really make him immature, just a 17 year old kid
And Mettenberger.
Yep he sure did, had forgotten about him. Not sure, but I think all 3 may have led their teams to JUCO national championships, I know Cam did.
Grumpy, it's ironic that those three actually moved to JUCO due to some type of malfeasance at their original school.
Who are they still recruiting at QB?^ This. Not only is he being completely overshadowed by Tua, Bama continues to recruit 2017 QBs.
Who are they still recruiting at QB?
I'm aware of that. He said they are still recruiting 2017 QB's. I'm curious who they are.Well they had a 6.0 commit in 15, a 5.8 in 16, a 6.0 that totally outplayed him in the Elite 22 from all reports in his class, and while they don't have a QB commit in 18 yet they only have two commits so far and will undoubtedly add another top rated one form somewhere.
Should not be overlooked that Hinshaw has some sucking up to do after his little social media stunt. Not trying to displace blame. Lots of ish went wrong at the same time.
I just hope that if Mac flips again, he flips to us and we get past this crap and have a great time watching him become an SEC starter.
No that's just the problem that illustrates why we may have been a better fit. If he changes his mind again the Bama folk might not care enough to get nasty over it.Mac Jones will probably not think it was too bad of a reaction from UK fans when he gets the reaction from Alabama fans. That is, if he flips from them.
It's even more ironic that none of those guys ended up at Criminal Rehabilitation Community College 64 miles west if they were kicked out of school.Grumpy, it's ironic that those three actually moved to JUCO due to some type of malfeasance at their original school.

You could be right, but I imagine that the Bama folk will still be nasty just because he changed from them to us. Even if we don't want a basketball kid we'd still be kind of miffed if they were committed to us and then decided to go to Alabama. I could be wrong, but I think the insult to them will be that he picks us, and they'll harass him a whole lot over that.
Maybe but could depend on whether or not Bama gets Baylor transfer Stidham. I think no way does Jones stick if Bama gets Stidham. Not saying Jones heads to UK just that he hauls in that event.
Stidham said today he is going JUCO. But, he also got his release form Baylor today, which means that coaches can now (legally) contact him and start the bidding (uh, I mean recruiting)...You would think so, but I don't know why Jones would want to be there now. Stidham is definitely going to be an interesting twist in the quarterback game. Wish we could have gotten him from the word go.
