It reveals a lot bout the direction the WVU football program is heading right now is what is reveals. He may not be the only one, and who knows how many we will end up losing to the portal. This crap needs fixed fast.
I think if Brown was in an ordinary situation that WVU would be okay. But since Covid, an open portal at any time, and the hurt feelings of some of these children and their participation trophy mentality, smaller schools will always be on the outside looking in. The NCAA is useless and this just shows it. Open free agency and transferring where ever and whenever is not good for college athletics. It's not good for pros either because there is not loyalty, but we are used to that now. It will always be the upper 8 schools and the rest of them just play to make some money for their salaries.
College sports is now pretty much done and we all know it. It does not matter who coaches at WVU, we will not be competitive any longer. We don't have the resources to keep up with the elite 8 and the open portal means we are just going to be a minor league team for those other schools similar to D2 and FCS is now for D1. Sad really but probably reality.

Those type players have decommitted from WVU since the beginning of recruiting times. Now with NIL it's only going to get worse.
