His style of play is probably better suited for the Pac12.
Smoke has had his up and downs to be sure but he was imo by far the second best RB on the team and yet he was woefully misused his entire career. He did well this year when Crod got suspended and then never played again once he came back. Wasted talent imo

Yeah whatever happened to smoke once crod came back is a bit of a head scratcher…not sure he’s a bell cow in the SEC but he’s a solid #2 and change of pace guy that could have been used more

Would agree he may be better suited for PAC style of ball.

Look out for the buffs, Prime has assembled a group of dudes that can and have played in the other P4s which means they can ball out in the PAC.

I am very happy for him. His style should mesh well there and I really hope he can avoid the injury bug that has hit him so many times and finish out strong.

Smoke had injury problems including concussions. Not wasted if he couldn't get healthy.

Geeez.....the overblown talent of Smoke amazes me.

1. He's been hurt every year at UK...even in a part time role
2. He was pretty bad at breaking tackles....seemed to go down at first hit most times.
3. For a guy who had good hands...man he dropped a ton of balls out of backfield.

He will run all day in the PAC 12.
We lost faith in him with his key drops mentioned above but the guy has breakaway talent.

This makes sense to me. I think he will thrive if he stays healthy and can avoid the reported migraines. If you give him a hole, he can surely motor and pickup yards quickly. He seems like some of the old Buff RBs from back in the hey day. Should be a good get for Deion.

Hard to tell if he was better than McCLain by season’s end. JuTahn started to show he had some between the tackle YAC running ability during the second half and also seemed a better passing target. Smoke does not have the wiggle and lateral movement to successfully dance like he does sometimes, but seemed to be better this year falling forward after contact. I don’t recall as many tackles for loss, but I admit I am not looking at stats.

I hope he has a great year and makes a PAC name for himself.

Interesting. Pretty telling where Colorado is on the transfer pecking order if they had to steal him from Troy. I'm glad what smoke did here but he's waaaaaay down the list of available rbs.

All true but I could say that about every back on Uk’s roster. Even c-rod isn’t a complete back, terrible coming out of the backfield . I don’t think saying he is the second best back really means I think he’s great, probably more of an indictment of our stable but I do think he was wasted and I also know he was in the dog house for whatever reasons- he probably shoulda left two years ago

No need to dump on Smoke...I never saw a lack of effort, and as was mentioned he had the injury bug.

Wish him nothing but success....

Can't fit a round peg into a square hole, (at UK).
