On the brightside. We have too many players, and this contributed to some of the crazy substitutions we saw earlier in the year. With these injuries it's forcing pope to play more logical lineups
Get ready to be a pretty miserable lout for the vast majority of your life then. Odd way to choose to live, but you do you.4-2 in the SEC for Kentucky means you better get moving. We’re in a major final four drought and have had the doors blown off of us. We have no recruits coming in. If you don’t see anything to worry about, I don’t know what to tell you.
No way should a single Kentucky fan be happy with at the moment. Keep winning and Mark turn it up, get these final fours, then I’ll be happy. Not a damn chance until them. We’re a blue blood.
I’m happy with a win, not happy with what’s been going on here or what the future looks to hold. Not at all. Blue bloods especially this one has standards. 4-2 in the SEC with who we’ve played doesn’t add up.
You’re probably right, just wonder how ready he isI think we have to consider it. By the time he is a senior, red shirt rules may be meaningless.
He is raw. But we need the body at this point. You’re probably right, just wonder how ready he is
Serious question
I read today about the 49ers coaches looking into increased EMF emissions or something from an electric substation.
Is anyone in the know , know of any large substations near where the players practice and live
Oh no! Is there “scuttlebutt” that it’s a torn ACL?! I sure hope not!Who is the poster that had a son with the acl injury. I need his opinion on a time line lol
I mean, maybe. It can heal in six weeks. Have there been reports that it’s a fifth metatarsal bone?!Its season ending.
Which bone he broke will determine time out.
The fifth metatarsal is hardest to heal.
He's at least 8 weeks out just to be cleared to return to practice.
Not yet.I mean, maybe. It can heal in six weeks. Have there been reports that it’s a fifth metatarsal bone?!
Well why’d you mention the fifth metatarsal bone being hardest to heal?! LmaoNot yet.
I can heal in 6 but that's 6 weeks with no conditioning and he would still have issues with tenderness and swelling with a return to activity.
Watch that word “swelling”. On this board it has a totally different meaning. Not yet.

Na I was just messin with him because I seen another poster joke about not hearing that story before. Kam just has broken forOh no! Is there “scuttlebutt” that it’s a torn ACL?! I sure hope not!
I'm assuming the deal they made with the devil is somehow helping them avoid injuries (and non-biased officiating). Why doesn't this ever happen to Duke? They go years and years without significant injuries
I hadn't heard about what is going on with Potter. Can you elaborate?Agree on Hawthorne but Potter has medical issue & already set for next year
Unbelievable bad luck this year AND last year. This one hurts. He had become one of our most reliable two way players over the past month or so, and we don’t really have anyone else on the roster who approximates his skillset to step into the gap. Unbelievably bad injury luck this year.
I don’t think so. I don’t see Kentucky ever settling for middle of the pack SEC like we have been under Pope. Don’t see 4/5 straight losses to Alabama happening much, don’t see blowouts routinely like this season. Either he turns the corner and produces at UK levels or he’s replaced.Get ready to be a pretty miserable lout for the vast majority of your life then. Odd way to choose to live, but you do you.
i remember when 10 losses was considered beneath UK standardsI don’t think so. I don’t see Kentucky ever settling for middle of the pack SEC like we have been under Pope. Why do you think we remain in that shape? We moved on Tubby over far less. We made the right moves throughout history Eventually.
Tubby would definitely look at some of this and wonder what the hell has happened? We were wanting him out after year 3 and definitely year 6 with a title, final four, and multiple elite 8’s lol.i remember when 10 losses was considered beneath UK standards
tubby thinking to himself "sh*t i could build a pretty damn good team with $22 million"Tubby would definitely look at some of this and wonder what the hell has happened? We were wanting him out after year 3 and definitely year 6 with a title, final four, and multiple elite 8’s lol.
Barnhart has really lowered standards. He’s been trying his best to make UK fans accept a lower bar. Began with the end of tubby, through trying to stop the Calipari hire, moving on Drew, Pope, Gillispie. Way better options everytime but he doesn’t want it.
in the end it’s not going to work. We’re in a massive final four drought and Duke is gaining fast. Eventually people are going to have to take care of the program and move away from the average coach love affair.
A lot of that had to do with the difference in conference strength today versus the past. I’d definitely say 10 losses is still bad by Kentucky standards but 10 losses in 2004 is not the same as 10 losses in 2026. Fans struggle with understanding this.i remember when 10 losses was considered beneath UK standards
The SEC was stacked last season but someone has to be first and there’s absolutely no reason that isn’t UK, the blue blood of the conference. Duke had no trouble locking down the ACC and Kansas had no trouble locking down the BIG12 when they were stacked. Hasn’t Duke won 4 or 5 of the last 10 ACC titles?A lot of that had to do with the difference in conference strength today versus the past. I’d definitely say 10 losses is still bad by Kentucky standards but 10 losses in 2004 is not the same as 10 losses in 2026. Fans struggle with understanding this.
At some point, things are a choice. We have no control over whether or not Pope will be here next year — he will be. We can either understand that and try to enjoy when good things happen i.e. a four game conference win streak or choose to remain fixated on the struggles. Neither is a “correct” choice as they have no effect on the program in a significant way. What they affect is your own fulfillment and enjoyment as a fan, and I’d hate to miss the small victories of being a fan, even if the larger picture hasn’t developed the way we want yet.
I know you and you broke that off in somebody's ***.So I had a broken third metatarsal bone last year and it took 6-8 weeks to heal. Depending on the location, that might be Kam’s timeline on healing.
Then you better find another program to support because your expectations are too high for this current era. Maybe other schools can weave through this new era but Kentucky has shown that it cannot and that isn’t going to change now or a decade later. The SEC was stacked last season but someone has to be first and there’s absolutely no reason that isn’t UK, the blue blood of the conference. These are just excuses especially given our booster contributions. Nobody is going to pay like UK for basketball and they aren’t. Oats is doing better than us without those resources.
Kentucky should not be a middle of the pack SEC program, we should be no worse than 3rd in most years, we should be 1st much of those years. If we aren’t on those marks we need a new coach. It’s that simple. This corresponds with our lack of final fours, we simply aren’t hiring correctly. That’s all it is, nothing to do with the conference. Held Calipari too long, average follow up hire to this point.
The SEC isn’t actually that great, definitely not to the point where we can’t do this.
I’m a UK die hard, I’m not going to negotiate UK basketball. That’s something that should be non-negotiable. Every single booster and fan at this point should be calling for a change and hoping for the best. When Mark proves he’s UK quality that can change. He’s getting next year, but it’s elite 8/ final four, win the SEC (or very close) or bust for me. Anything else and we’re lowering standards. I’m rooting for him to figure it out.
lol I think you’re going to get to see just how that works. This is said ever single time UK has been in a slump all the way back to the 70’s. And it’s always wrong. Then you better find another program to support because your expectations are too high for this current era. Maybe other schools can weave through this new era but Kentucky has shown that it cannot and that isn’t going to change now or a decade later.
Learn to realize we’re not the kings of basketball anymore and never will be again.
This is absolutely trueA lot of that had to do with the difference in conference strength today versus the past. I’d definitely say 10 losses is still bad by Kentucky standards but 10 losses in 2004 is not the same as 10 losses in 2026. Fans struggle with understanding this.

We’re spending a lot on NIL but we’re also 13-6. NIL means nothing. You’re delusional if you don’t see that most fans have settled for this new era of Kentucky basketball.lol I think you’re going to get to see just how that works. This is said ever single time UK has been in a slump all the way back to the 70’s. And it’s always wrong.
I still remember “Kentucky is the Notre Dame of college basketball” comments. Cal won’t go there, he has everything he needs in Memphis. Aaaaand Bam, we had enough of the issues and went for the right hire. All of those comments were Gold by 2010. Nothing will change this time. If Mark can’t get this done he’ll be replaced and the next hire won’t be a question. This is how it always works here.
Kentucky is the only program in history to sustain for this long. Nobody else has done it. If we can’t do it nobody is doing it. 5 coaches to win titles, if you want a ring this is the place. Great coaches are famous here, unlike anywhere else. You’re always going to have great coaches want to be a part of this. It’s the challenge, the fame, the history.
I’d say you’re in for a rude awakening if you actually believe that. We have a top 1-5 NIL any given season also, and every guy that covers college basketball has basically verified this. So no, you’ll be wrong just like anyone who did this the last time at the end of Gillispie was wrong.
Are you Arkansas or Louisville? Lol. Keep dreaming buddy.
Nobody has settled. Until he won the last 4 you had hardly nobody saying run it back, they just thought he would be brought back for a 3rd year. I don’t know what you’re talking about. None of this is true. I do think there are some posters here who are coach first but we’ve always had 4 or 5 who can’t see through coach charisma. They fall for the coach. Every fanbase has some. We’re spending a lot on NIL but we’re also 13-6. NIL means nothing. You’re delusional if you don’t see that most fans have settled for this new era of Kentucky basketball.
I’m serious when I say this: you will never see Kentucky win another title in your lifetime. The fans who accept the new direction of this program overwhelm the fans who have higher expectations. I don’t know what happened or how it happened but the fans’ football expectations have spread into basketball.
They are 18-40 all time to UK. They won their 18th in history and suddenly it’s all over. I love seeing fanbases suck for decades and have a decent game and suddenly they’re going to take over the world.
Even when Pope plowing towards a potential losing record, this forum was the only one calling for his head. Outside of a few angry fans on facebook and twitter, the overwhelming majority continued to blindly support him.Nobody has settled. if you think UK won’t win another title I would love to make a wager on that. Problem is you wouldn’t come back.
Kentucky is the only program in history to win to these levels. If UK isn’t doing it nobody is. Right now Kansas is sitting with their guy. We might not have our guy yet, could be Oats in 2 years. Could be Pearl for 7. We don’t know.
Kentucky will never stop being dominant in basketball. You’re just going to have to accept that. It’ll be easier for you. This is the place great coaches much of the time want to be. Can’t be recognized historically anywhere like here. The pull is too strong.
This, this, this!A lot of that had to do with the difference in conference strength today versus the past. I’d definitely say 10 losses is still bad by Kentucky standards but 10 losses in 2004 is not the same as 10 losses in 2026. Fans struggle with understanding this.
