Well having a system isnt an issue in terms of winning I never said it was - it is however an issue if you want top level recruits HS or Portal.

Duke and Houston are running systems and doing just fine.
We run a system and had the 2nd ranked portal class.
Our issues are not the recruits, but the utilization of those recruits AND the fit of those pieces.

Pull up Duke and Kentucky film side by side. Both teams this year are running a lot of the same sets, frankly because of our ineptitude, they are running our sets more often than we are. Just pointing out, I think you’re off base on this.

I dont know whats what in terms of Popes offense currently and I doubt he does either this year I do know Duke runs Adaptive Motion - a 5 sec search will tell you that lol. Also thats the scheme top players love as scheme conforms to their strengths. Cal ran a version of that but Duke incorporates more/better sets out of it currently.
They are running a lot continuity zoom. They also run a lot of high pick and roll. They bring their 5 out top for dribble hand offs in a continuity set, just like us last year. Same with Houston this year.

Pope seems like a really good guy but very strange. I also noticed he loves to take his family on the road recruiting with him, I’ve never heard of a Kentucky coach doing that before or any coach to be honest. Probably not a big deal but it seems like it might take focus off task at hand

The way he is not feeding his stud JQ, is not a good look for recruiting.
In addition, Jasper is known in a lot of recruiting circles and was considered a top 20 freshman coming in. He clearly has skills but Pope is not using him correctly. I would rather have him in than Chandler right now and let him develop. He has a more upside than Chandler. I am sure recruits see that too.
