This. Arkansas does look good and they legit have good guards. Fland may well be on another level. But so much of what we're seeing is Kansas not sure what to do without Dickinson, while Big Z is taking all kinds of advantage of being able to gaze down calmly and distribute in a way that he's just not going to be able to do with another big on the floor, much less a good big.
All SEC C Aidoo is sitting for precautionary reasons. Z is probably 8th in the rotation but playing more because it’s an exhibition.
Kansas will be much better with Dickinson. This is a nothingburger. But, Wagner and Fland look very very good against inarguably the best defensive backcourt in the country.
Arkansas could have 5 All Americans on the team and it still wouldn’t matter because Cal is coaching them.
Boogie is the best player on the floor and Wagner is the second best player on the floor.

Last season against Kansas he shot us into the game and shot us out of it instead of giving the ball to Shep. There is nothing new here no matter how hard you look for it.
You’ll never win shat with Cal. Watching you all get giddy is cute, however.
I have been UK basketball since Cotton Nash. The Runts broke my heart, I was involved in the program in the transition between Coach Rupp and Joe B. I am still best buds with a number of the Super Kittens. One of my best moments was beating Indiana in Dayton in 1975 and the national championship in 1978. Besides the Runts another heartbreak was Pitino leaving. If he had stayed in Camelot we would have passedUCLA. With all of those great moments good and bad, one of the best moments was when the former coach announced he was going to Arkansas. We now have our program back. We now have a coach who gets it and understands the mission. We have our program back with kids who want to win for UK. I could give a damn about what happens to the Arkansas coach or his players. I welcome those that played under that coach that actually care about UK. To the others I could care less as much as they didn’t care about us. They and their coach aren’t worth wasting my breath over.

My main take-away from this game is where is the 3-point shooting? Neither team shooting threes.

KJ Adams is a great athlete, but a horrible offensive player. He could play CBB for 10 years and still would be a horrible offensive player. I guess playing beside an offensive Center like Dickinson he's not as bad, but KU not bringing in a PF from the portal was a big mistake, I think.
Griffin, Dickinson are starters, the coit kid will be a good bench piece

DJ looked good early in the season at Kentucky. However, he melted under the pressure of everyone clearly seeing that Shep was by far the best player on the team. If KU started switching defenses to include various types of zones, this Cal's team as so many others will crap their shorts.
Harris is a good shooter. But he's so passive and turns down so many shots he might as well not be a good shooter.
Basically, the grind of conference games will tell us a lot.
I think Cal has already met the coaching ceiling, this exhibition game is just fool's gold.

Big Z is being missed used by Cal. He will never be a back to the basket NBA player. He is forcing him to play like it is 1990.
Listen man, I’m not as hard on Cal as many other UK fans are (it’s certainly their right to be) and I appreciate everything he’s done for UK. He’s a legend in my eyes.
With that being said, his days of winning anything worth mentioning are over. It is very possible he’s assembled one of the five best rosters in college basketball this year, just as he does year after year.
But as the season goes on, you’re gonna spend more time asking questions in your mind wondering why and what he’s doing instead of enjoying the game.

So happy not to see a coach screaming "go" all season to get points in the transition because his only half court "set" is AAU iso ball. Works early until a good team make you play half court ball, the legs get tired, and the injuries start happening.
