I see him possibly at tight end in the future, with such tenacity and explosiveness. He would make a good one, I think. I'm not convinced he has the speed for linebacker in the SEC.

Which explains him being first to the return man... almost always. "Got it. Thanks."

Playing MLB is about more than sheer speed. The strength to jam and shed blockers is at least as important. Kash is going to kill it at MLB, and the last thing I would EVER do is waste that combination of power, strength, and hostility on offense. Born linebacker, that kid. He is the sort to someday drop the Nick Chubbs and Leonard Fournettes of the world like they just took a round to the head. Love it.

1) I never said he wouldn't be a MLB. I said I wasn't convinced of it.
2) I have not seen him be the first to the return man very often....Eli Brown, yes.
3) If he is good enough to play MLB, then he will. Apparently, he's nowhere near good enough right now. I suspect he will get plenty of snaps against Austin Peay.
4) He is just a Freshman and should get better as he moves along.

Plenty fast enough, kid played QB in high school. Side to side quickness is a different thing and we won't know that until he gets to play regular. But aggressiveness and reaction time make up for speed and quickness sometimes . .. .see Mary Moore

I mentioned only speed, but quickness (not only laterally, but multi-directional) is certainly needed. You are right that "we won't know until he gets to play regular" and that is how I can't be convinced right now......I haven't seen the speed or the quickness. Definitely, the toughness, heart and desire......NO QUESTION. I hope he makes ALL-SEC and sets a school record for tackles, but I've not seen enough yet to expect anything close to that.

I saw the hit and thought "who is that monster for UK that laid that wood" then realized it was Kash. Geez what a pop!

What is everyone's infatuation of the tight end? Newton to tight end, Towles to tight end. Hyde to tight end. Stephen Johnson to tight end. Grant McGinnis to tight end.

The words "tight end" has history.

Seriously though, after hearing the comment on KSR I was surprised and thought he had to have inside coaching info to make that statement :bomb:

It's not infatuation with TE so much as it being viewed as a position where the player can contribute if he isn't cutting it at his original position - especially QBs (cf. all the suggestions that Tim Tebow move to TE.) QB's tend to be among the best athletes on a team, but if they don't make it at QB they don't have the build to be on the OL (JLo not withstanding), or the build and running style to be effective RBs. Some might make it as WR/slot - Cobb, Randle El, but your prototypical pro style QB isn't going to do that. Move to D and play LB (Snedegar) or safety? Only if they have that nasty streak and like hitting.

90% of the time the best position for a "failed" QB you don't want lingering on the bench is TE or FB and hardly anyone uses the fullback anymore.

Love most always leaves the gap and just sticks his head in the back of the DL already engaged with a blocker when all he has to do is explode into the gap! It's not as much about speed at MLB as it is instincts and heart and a brain!!
Im have no doubt that Kash, if given the chance, will be one of the better football players in the SEC!
Your not an Army all American and the #3 rated MLB coming out if your not the real deal.
I just really hope that DJ is fired or demoted!! Lots of good DC's out there!! We desperately need to hire one!!

I thought Kash should've gotten some reps during the game, too. He played his best game on special teams. He was very active and seemed to always be there.
